I think this movie about a Russian typhoon class (iirc) called the Kursk would be depressing to watch. Certainly not for the claustrophobic. I remember when this all went down. The rumour was their was some sort of experimental equipment that was embarked that caused an explosion. I also seem to remember that the Russians refused help from the Americans who may have had better rescue kit. I wonder if this is based on black box recordings recovered?
Last I read, the evidence all pointed towards the Russian torpedoes' propellant system & internal materials, prone to rapidly expanding gasses causing an explosion if there was an internal leak. One faulty & internally leaking torpedo started the whole torpedo-chain-explosion event in the torpedo room. That's a LOT of boom. :hide:
