Three words for you: Steam Holiday Sale. :P
Looks like that's where this one is going. It's like Sid patched directly in to my brain! A black death scenario sounds great and well, First World War...come on now.
But will the AI actually be able to play the game? That's been my biggest problem with Civ VI.

+1
AI plays fine for me. But I never claimed to be the sharpest tool in the shed.
Me neither! Civ VI gold - with all DLC and the Rise and Fall expansion - is now ~38.00 on Steam. Any chance this will drop further during the next Steam sale? Should I wait or is this a steal?

Seems very unlikely that it would go further than the current 70% off.....

Interesting. I must say.
Damn you...damn all of you.

I'm starting to think he doesn't age.
This is the easiest Civ add-on to resist ever. Civ6 is (still) brain dead... like playing sandbox with no opponents. What is most sad is that it is STILL better than Civ5. To top it off Firaxis' behavior about the imbedded spyware is inexcusable, ever. I am still playing modded Civ4, a far, far superior product.

Yep. Civilization 4 is still my favorite. I want to like the others but every time I read up on them I end up deciding to wait and go back to Civ. 4.

No, KS.
Just kidding, MD loves Civ IV and ONLY Civ IV!
Is that you, John Wayne?
Is this me?
Hahaha!!!! YES
Ooh I did not know Hungary is included. Thanks for posting.
Whole game play vid of Hungary here:

FF to the 12 minute mark for the start.
Oh, I like the Maori. Good stuff there.
Yeah, the ocean start and other goodies make them look like a fun civ to play.
About an hour of game play as the Maori. O0
Play through with Canada:

If you never bought, now only $26....

^I have that exact offer opened in a different window right now :)
But I may as well wait for the GOTY edition to come out 6 months or a year from now with the upcoming expansion as part of it.

You are a patient man :)
I am also going to wait for a sale. This DLC is way too expensive.
Yeah I agree with that. Plus my backlog of 50+ other games will keep me occupied until that inevitable GOTY edition is released.
Not me. I'd hand Sid my wallet right now if he were here. (https://www.grogheads.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aarcentral.com%2Femoti%2Fworship.gif&hash=7af8ab189b632cdc21334994a3af1a8cc8ed1b9c)

New Year's resolution: No buying any games until 2019 winter sale. Welp, that's ruined.

Agreed....$40 for a DLC, even $33 on Sale at Fanatical, is way too expensive.
Stay strong brothers!
Too much for my budget at the moment
I can't say i am not tempted but it costs as much as a brand new game...
I am tempted but I am more tempted by the dozens of games on my desktop that I have yet to play. I have at least gotten a little better in that I can play 2-3 games per gaming session. That will help me burn through the backlog and decide which ones to return to and which ones just suck. I used to be able to concentrate on only one game at a time, making the time it took to get through the backlog much longer.
Looks very nice! :smitten:
Voidu.com has the new expansion 25% discounted at the moment if you use WINTERMADNESS as a coupon code when checking out!
This is not directly applicable to Gathering Storm but a general Civ VI question...
The AI works on expanding cities one tile at a time and I'd like to direct the AI as to which tile to work on next. I can't find anything in the Civopedia or the fairly worthless manual. Any idea if that's possible (without buying the tile directly) and if so, how. It's probably something really simple that will make me feel like an idiot. Wait a minute, maybe I ... :uglystupid2: nah, let's don't go there.
Nope there is no way to direct which hex yer city expands too....
Well isn't that a pain in the patoot!
Thanks for the info.
I think relative distance to other cities and or citystates cause your invisible bubble of control to change and I've read somewhere that this might push your expansion the wrong way some times.
Otherwise your technology level should count; for example if you have a way of harvesting diamonds and a tile with that resource should become available within your city's expansion bubble the AI should move that way.
But I agree it all seems quite random. For all we know dice are thrown and that results in a certain hex to be added. :P
Anyway, you need to have a reason to spend that Gold as well, so buy that plot of land! You can buy anything up to three tiles from the centre.
Oh, digging a bit further I found that aparently there is a way to show you which tile the city will grab next and how many turns it takes.
It was a feature added in the Fall 2016 patch. :buck2:
As to how you view this... no idea. :))
It shows you this when you click on the hex button in the city display at the bottom right. It's how you buy tiles too.
BUT that's not always the hex you end up with when the count down ends. Sometime you'll get a different hex if the conditions you described change.... can be frustrating.... :pullhair:
Hmm can't say I ever consiously noticed the indicator 😊
Probably just never thought about it.

It's helpful when you're considering purchasing a tile and then see that you have a good chance of getting it for free in a few turns.
22% off on GMG today, but will hold off unless someone tells it is a game changer as still pretty expensive for an expansion.
^That and a massive 76% off the Civ VI Gold Edition has me reconsidering...
Do it! And join our PBEM!
DO IT!
Already played some of the new expansion. Cool stuff. Need more play time....

That makes it very tempting.
Looking at GOG right now...the price for Civ VI Gold is even less than I thought it was...14.40. Wow.
But Gathering Storm is ~32.00!!
:/
Well strictly speaking you do not need GS for our PBEM.
I *think* we currently have 2 AI civs that can be taken over by human players, so Gus and OJsDad could join us... theoretically. :buck2:
Well... just got a science victory as Sweden on Prince level (so easy :D )
I really like all the new additions in GS. Got to use or interact with almost all of them this game. O0
Thanks Bart :)
