Big road trip. No games for about 10 days.
Working on an AAR for JTS battles of North Africa 1941. Maybe some ARMA 3, DCS Hornet or Star Citizen if 3.4 hits...we'll see.

Will finally begin to learn Ultimate General: Civil War and start a heavily modded Fall of the Samurai campaign.
Getting into the Tech Alpha test of Division 2 last weekend has spurred me to settle back in with The Division for a little while; going to focus moreso on the Dark Zone, Underground and pounding out my Shields in order to get goodies in Division 2 when it comes along (and Lord help me, I'm certain I'm going to pre-purchase Div 2 before too long so I can for-sure be in Beta when that rolls out).

I have to check because I installed it months ago...it may be called 'Total FOTS' and is a semi-fantasy, what-if kind of mod that gives the player the opportunity to play several different Western nations attempting to colonize Japan in the 2nd half of the 19th century. Sounds awesome, eh? I will do a What's Gus Playing on it.

No just discovered them this year. They played in Thompson - Boling arena (the man modern indoor arena) at UT Knoxville a few Fridays ago. Bought my nieces the Christmas trilogy collection (with the 1999 TV special), but they said the CDs were scratched. :P Not sure what to do about that yet. I do have mp3s of the albums, so I may make them a CD off that, but it'll be after Christmas naturally.

Cold Waters (bargain at half price on Steam)
Just won my first battle in Ultimate General: Civil War...Dunker Church. Never heard of it before and I had it on the easiest setting [to learn] but I can see how this game can get very addicting. :dreamer:

Get's a lot tougher late war.. trying to keep your regiments full.
But it is a great game!
Just beat the Bunker Hill battle (as the Confederates)...again on the easiest setting. The AI here is formidable! Not sure if I will ever be ready to turn up the difficulty...

And you guys made me buy the game so I can recreate the Rebels storming Bunker Hill...and Pearl Harbor.
Just played two more battles - or parts of battles - Pickett's charge @ Gettysburg and Marye's Heights @ Fredericksburg, both as Confederates, and won both!
Marye's Heights was the biggest battle I've played so far...around 60,000 troops on each side.
It was amazing watching the ground go from smooth to cratered by infantry and artillery by the end, really well done.
I had the Gettysburg version sitting in my library forever. Your enthusiasm, Gus made me finally try it. Ended up buying the full version. Great game so far. Feel like Civil War Generals 2 meets Close Combat.
lol, Gus's 'Bunker Hill' comment, did make me go "Huh?". But then I thought, maybe there was a place called Bunker Hill down south as well. :2funny:

It has the same campaign/role playing elements as CWG2 plus the RTS stylings of CC. I don't think I could explain CC but as someone who doesn't like RTS games, this one is pausable so it makes reacting and issuing orders manageable.

Its a good game, especially for the cheap prices...but I still find it a bit hectic/gamey for my personal taste....even with the pausing.
^ Yeah, I'd tend to agree with that. It's not SoW, but it IS a fun little Civil War game when you don't want the serious brain-burn of SoW.
Again, think Cold Waters vs. Silent Hunter.
Pausable and the speed is also adjustable :)
In other news, I was able to get Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion to finally work on my PC.
Is the DLC worth it? Got it in my Steam cart now, along with Majesty (the updated 'HD' version).
Also forgot to mention this yesterday - I got a copy of Fantasy General for free from GOG with my purchase of The Saboteur. Fired it up just to check it out and it looks really good, I have to say...especially for a 20+ year old game.
