Title: Alien Assault
Post by: Jack Nastyface on August 03, 2012, 01:12:38 PM
Regulars to this and other boards may recall sometime ago that a small, independent development team in Sweden (?) had developed a turn-based game very similar in look-and-feel to a certain Games-Workshop-title-that-involves-chasing-aliens-through-the-hulk-of-a-space-craft (TM).  At the time, GW issued a "cease and desist" order and demanded that the program be modifed to respect copyrights and trademarks.
Well, I just re-visited that site and found that a new version of the program - retitled Alien Assault -  is available for download.  I am so far enjoying this new version as it makes from some quick but satisfying play.  Looks like this new version has an editor, but I haven't checked it out, yet.

Looks interesting. Also made me think of the old 'Laser Squad' game.

OOooo!  I see a pre-production section for Alien Assault 2.

I didn't know they were gonna make a fresh one.  :D

There are also a ton of mods available to quickly turn it back in to Space Hulk.

FWIW...I am finding new version very difficult.  Even some the tutorial missions are hard to complete.
