BREAKING! -- 21st century scientists are astonished to discover that flying to the moon is super-hard, can easily end in unexpected catastrophes; still want to archive things there, like that would be useful.

I actually considered posting (and joking) about it.

It would be interesting to see the repercussions of this over a  hundred  years from now.

Well, they have nothing to eat, presumably, beyond whatever was sent with them; and no way to travel; so I'd say the repercussions of them being there in a hundred years are likely to be nothing beyond "Hey most of these things are dead and the others are still hibernating."
