I never had the pleasure of playing Wings (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEIARv4zpCk)since I never had an Amiga, but I know some here hold the game in high esteem. Just saw that there is an effort on Kickstarter to bring it back.

Wings on the Amiga - great fun, as long as you did not use your own name for pilots - the sight of a graveyard full of tombstones with your name on was very depressing...........
The air-to-air combat was not brilliant, but the ground attack / bombing missions were fun. Its one of those daft games that's compulsive (and even frustrating at times) without any real pretense of being 'realistic'.

Yeah, wasn't it made by Cinemaware? They always did value spectacle above all else. Fantastic developer!
OMG...Wings is one of my favorite games ever. Yes, developed by Cinemaware. IIRC they have been rejuvenated and brought back from the dead too. Thanks for posting Steve!
I'll look forward to this one as well!
Looked over the link a bit...it doesn't look like they're going to do a lot of new work with the title other than a few new missions and modernizing the graphics. Wondering if that is enough for me to sign on or just keep Wings a fond memory and sink time into Rise of Flight and Over Flanders Fields...
Some tasty, if expensive, goodies as well.
I'm not in the least tempted ::)

Well, they do say "You Can't Go Home Again". Even with DOSBox available I've yet to use it to fire up any old favorites...I guess I'm a bit of an eye candy whore. ::)
If you're jones-ing for some WW1 flight sim action, you can't go wrong with Over Flanders Fields (Phase 3, and soon (hopefully Phase 4)) or even Rise of Flight...
^I know I own both OFF and ROF :)...I do want to go home again and capture that feeling I got at 16 upon completing Wings. I think I literally cried. I don't know if that's possible at 38 :/
Not looking too good for a Wings re-make. 6 4 days to go and over $300,000 short.

I have to admit I did not pledge. I just don't think they are doing enough to warrant a contribution. If they totally recreated the game, like Wasteland 2, then I would definitely go in. But an 'updated original' going on 25 years later? Not enough for me.
