Crowfall is an upcoming MMORPG that mixes elements of strategy and survival games. It's being developed by J Todd Coleman (Shadowbane, Pirate101, Wizard101) and Gordon Walton (Ultima Online, Star Wars Galaxies, Sims Online). The game features intense PvP (GvG, sieges, faction vs. faction), deep character advancement, complex crafting, territory conquest, caravans, city building and more.
Beta is expected to begin this year and anyone can register (https://crowfall.com/en-us/register) to participate to it.
Here's an in-engine footage showing the world of Crowfall :

Lot of changes to the game in this past year. Closed Beta has begun and many PvP fights broke out : GvG, duels, sieges... Anyone can register a new account to join the battle for free.
Character advancement has changed drastically with the removal of the passive training, which was replaced by item-based progression. They've also added the domains (more customization), some disciplines and revamped the attribute system. Performances also improved, especially in large-scale battles. Mounts, caravans and refineries are now in the game. Finally, they've added a new player experience (series of tutorials).
There are some mechanics that are gruesome, like grave digging, necromancy, sacrifices to the gods, etc.
