Just saw this on Slickdeals (http://slickdeals.net/f/5056040-Ubisoft-1-Game-Sale)
Ubisoft is having a deal where they are selling one game a day for $1 as follows:
Thursday 8/16/12, H.A.W.X. 2
Friday 8/17/12, From Dust
Saturday 8/18/12, Silent Hunter 5
Sunday 8/19/12, Driver: San Francisco
In addition, other titles -- including Anno 2070, Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Assassin's Creed Revelations, Might & Magic: Heroes VI, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction -- are discounted up to 75%, also for a limited time. A screenshot of the deals can be found here (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=487106). Some good deals to be had...
Note: doesn't sound like any of the games will activate on Steam. Uplay is probably required for some, if not all of their games....
Here's the press release from Ubisoft: http://www.ubisoftgroup.com/en-US/press/detail.aspx?cid=tcm:99-60982-16&ctid=tcm:95-27313-32
Hmmm...might have to pick up SH5 for $1. :D
The whole HAWX series was so bad - Clancy is now just another poser!
I found that, when my copy of Anno 2070 updated, this Uplay thing was automatically installed. So if you are against this type of thing, but already one of these games, you have no choice but to use it if you want to play them.
I may have to get SH5 and Driver:San Fran (I wanted it, but not for a premium price). I'm tempted to get HOMM VI, but I have so many games it is ridiculous.

AFAIK the company that publishes all the "Tom Clancy" video games (Ubi?) just uses his name in them because they got the rights to do so from him long ago. I don't think he has anything to do with them.
At least, that was the scuttlebutt way back when the Splinter Cells were popular.
