Everyone must be on vacation for the Friday nite gaming thread not have been started by now...so I'll do the honors this week....
I've finally started dabbling with Skyrim and will also try to get in a little Kerbal mayhem with ver 0.16 of Kerbal Space Program.
p.s. Apparently there are a few members of the Mars Curiosity rover team that play KSP (http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-57495117-93/mars-curiosity-rover-team-prefers-macs-to-pcs/)...
Dunno really. I started playing the fabled To The Moon but it isn't grabbing me. I finished my single player Warlock game this week so I'll take a break from that (besides multiplayer). I have absolutely no idea what to play now!
War Thunder beta if I can get login access.
Last day of my Secret World account so I might go make an ass of myself in PvP.

What are the differences between v0.16 and the still free v0.13? Are there any big changes planned that would make it worth while or should I wait a few months and play the free game until then?

Well just off the top of my head, there is now a moon you can land on and a spaceplane hangar for designing spaceplanes. Also, what you put up in orbit, stays in orbit (persistence). You can launch other vehicles/Kerbals and see other craft in orbit. Docking with another vehicle is not quite there yet. Its a fun sandbox. Oh, and Kerbals can do EVA now too! There are some crazy user mods as the video in this thread (http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/showthread.php/15244-Kerbals-at-War-The-very-first-KSP-War-movie)shows...(though the author tweaked things to make it look like you can do more than what is happening in the video)
Here is the thread for 0.17 (http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/showthread.php/15757-KSP-0-17-Update)
Now that I got Diablo III up and running again, perhaps a few hours of demon crushing. And perhaps some Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai.
I will play mostly Gemini Wars. Started playing mission 11. It's really getting interesting with multiple star systems. Also armada 2526 supernova.
nothing for me this weekend.
I'm packing to go on holiday - to the Lake District and very much looking forward to my charity Coast 2 Coast ride across North England next Friday!
In fact - I won't be gaming at all because I'm away - so I'll be taking Thunderbolt Apache Leader with me...and may buy Sleeping Dogs when I get back

Bastard....
^Maybe not though. My first game is always with my OCD and if I deem Shogun not quite a good match with what I am reading, then...no beans.
Wanna trade video cards?
No way, sucka.
Civ5 and Warlock plus a bit of WoW, WoT, and EVE Online.
I'm not sure what else.
Continue with my Shogun 2 and Panzer Corps campaigns plus PBEM Armada 2526 Supernova and whatever else I can fit in. Back to work on Monday so need to make the most of my last days of vacation! 8)
Right now I got a pizza in the oven and then its watching tv shows via netflix with the wife tonight. Not sure I'll get any gaming in tonight. But hopefully sometime this weekend I'll build more in Minecraft and play some CK2 in preparation for the rumored MP gaming around here. Also I just reinstalled JT: Campaign Series so I might have some fun with that.
Bah you have a whole 48 hours plus Shelldrake! No worries.
Dead Space
It's a console port, so the PC controls are disjointed using mouse and keyboard. Might be better with XBOX controller.
Very detailed Science Fiction setting, however the level of violence and gore is off the chart.
Finished a big plate of pasta and jumbo shrimp so now I'm feeling kind of bloated.
After a little more rest I plan on playing Mass Effect 2 and the rest of the weekend with Armada Supernova PBEM and whatever else tickles my fancy.
Looks like mostly CM:SF for me. I might try and get back into The Secret World but I'm having too much fun with tanks and Javelins right now for much else.
Welcome Panzerde! Would we know you from any other forums mayhaps?
+1 on the welcome.
I'm going to be playing some Orcs Must Die! 2, Fallout New Vegas, and Combat Mission: Fortress Italy.
A resurrected Hearts Of Iron 2 Doomsday as Nat Chi. It's 1952 and I built the best navy I could research and declared on the Allies. The U.S. has put almost half my fleet to the ocean floor in less than two weeks. I'm driving in India, but the Brits are finally showing up. And my invasion of Australia was dealt a mortal blow courtesy of the US Navy. Tomorrow morning will be a new Civ IV with a buddy.
And welcome panzerde. I'll second Staggerwing's question.
I have an exceptionally full gaming plate this weekend...
Skyrim - continuing with Act 3 of the Main Quest.
Crusader Kings 2 - I'm either going to make a play for Hungary or the HRE...either way it promises to be an exceptionally fun time!
War of the Roses Beta - got in 5 hours yesterday and it is quite fun.
That's a lot of gaming there!
Not much gaming for me this weekend, but a little Project CARS, DCS A-10 and Virtual Pool 4 vs my girlfriend :)
Definitely spend more time with Sleeping Dogs. Aside from that, maybe a bit of Order of War. On the board game front, might get a chyance to try out Vegas Showdown and Marvel Heroes.
Played Arkham Horror for the first time last night. Fun game... especially since we won. ;)
Big pool party here today so no gaming 'cause I'm gonna be very drunk by the end of it. 8)
Mostly a lurker here and at Wargamer. I've occasionally posted at Space Sector and Space Game Junkie. I'm mostly a war, strategy, and 4X kind of guy, with occasional attempts to get back into MMOs. You guys have been influencing my games purchasing for a few months, so I decided to finally jump into the discussions!
Nah, its all propaganda - all we really have is a crate of beer and one copy of Warlock....
Welcome, anyway :-))
Not sure how much gaming I'm going to get in this weekend. I've been in a slump the last few weeks were nothing seems to hold my attention for long. Not sure if its just the long hours at work or If I'm just burnt out on the games I've been playing.
Skyrim: I have yet to beat the main quest in any of my play throughs. Not sure how much of it is left, but I think I'm near the end. I'm on my way to get the elder scroll. Want to get the MQ wrapped up so I can take a small break before I start another play through, hopefully with Dawnguard.
Crusader Kings 2: Bought the Sword of Islam DLC during the Steam summer sale, and haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Thinking of playing one of the factions in spain, or in the holy land around the time of the 1st Crusade.
Diablo III: Despite its flaws, killing demons never seems to get old.
I'm kinda burned out too. I am hoping that Diablo III or Shogun 2 bring me back into the fold. Civ V didn't.
Armada 2526 Supernova, including PBEM with the fellas.
Civilization IV -- if I dare go back to it (very addicting)!
Birth of the Federation (
Balance of Power mod): One of the community members has created a program that makes it very easy to install the various patches developed by our modders in the last year or two. Practically speaking, what this means is I can now play my favorite mods with all the latest updates/fixes -- wooh!

Welcome to Grogheads,
panzerde! Glad you're here. :)
Spent some time with Elemental Fallen Enchantress Beta 4 this morning. Overall I think its much improved over Elemental WOM. The art style is what it is, you either love it or hate it. Personally I don't think its that bad.
Cities: You know only need to build one building of a certain type, and then most buildings seem to be upgradeable. For example you build a merchant, which can then be upgraded to a market. Most buildings seem to have between 3 and 4 levels to them. Buildings are automatically placed on the map, no more having to place every building that you build.
Quests: They still seem rather difficult early on, but they provide nice bonus items.
The tech tree seems to be in good shape. It starts out with 2 options per category then splits into multiple options as you go along.
Spells are still kind of bland. Your typical fantasy fireball, haste, etc. Maybe they get more interesting as the game goes on. I haven't played enough to give a good opinion on them yet.
My biggest gripe, which I had in WOM as well, is that maps still seem way to small. I started out on a large map, and ran into 3-4 factions within 20 turns or so. I'm not sure about anyone else but when I play on large maps I want t o be able to expand a bit before I run into anyone.
For tonight I'm thinking of getting MOO3 from GOG. Jarhead keeps saying how a modded MOO3 is a great game, so I think I'm going to try it out.

Hell, beta 1 was a massive improvement over WoM. I haven't played beta 4 yet but as at beta 3 I'm really pleased with Fallen Enchantress. They're making great improvements with each release and, frankly, my only annoyance is how long it's taking. I'm not generally one to play betas so I may skip beta 4 altogether and wait as patiently as possible for v1.
With regard to map sizes, is that perhaps related to the long-promised but never delivered 64bit executable?

I am getting for free, like many of you I am sure, but won't be playing it until they say it's "ready." I am still waiting to get my monies work after buying WoM. >:(

It'll take a lot for me to get my money's worth. I spent almost £100 on War of Magic, because I bought the limited edition, had it shipped to the UK, and ended up having to pay a customs charge as well. If Fallen Enchantress isn't
amazing I'm going to be spitting blood!

That sucks, I am really glad I didn't get the limited edition.
My copy of the limited edition, pewter dragon and all...is sitting gathering dust in my closet right now :/
Warlock has taken it's place on the gaming mantle.

How was the map that came with it? I've always had thing for good maps.
I love maps, too. It's a lot of the charm of Civ for me.

Martok, have you checked out the Star Trek mod/scenario for Civ IV? Here's just one of the many available. http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=18651

Lots of gaming as it turned out:
Endless Space (very cool and elegant 4X -- but not particularly mind-shattering, unlike I expect CM:FI to be when I finally get it)
Case Blue (millions of dead Easy AI Axises as the Commie Hordes swarm over the Dneipr in July 1942 about a year ahead of schedule)
Road to Leningrad (close in scale to MMP Grand Tactical which has not turned up yet in its Where Eagles Dare incarnation)

I haven't checked out the mods yet -- I'm still learning the vanilla game! -- but I'll check that one out for sure. Thanks bud!
Not sure what the map is like for War of Magic LE since I didn't open it.
Link to the map (http://www.zen166938.zen.co.uk/images/WoM%20map.jpg) since I can't be arsed to resize it. It's quite nice really, and is made of a canvas-like material. Possibly canvas. :)
Huw - we on for warlock tonight mate?
I'm ready and waiting, with a cup of coffee and some Ballycastle for later. :D
On my way!

Thanks. Although it looks like nice I am glad I didn't pony up the extra money for the limited edition.

Yeah, it was back when I had more spare cash than I do now, but it still stings considering I still don't have even one complete, playable game to show for the money I spent.
