Curious if anyone plans to pick this one up later this week, been on the fence myself. Not my typical kind of game but looks interesting and might take a chance. Says it has a 30 hour campaign but they also claim it could take 500 hours to complete everything including the side quests. Length of game not the big of a deal for me as I'll likely never even finish the campaign:) I'll probably wait until some official reviews come out as I couldn't find any major incentive to pre-order (lower price, goodies, etc.). Seems they have a review embargo that lifts sometime late tonight or tomorrow, not really clear. I always hate when they do that:)
I did see some comments/reviews (some have now disappeared) where some people said Game of the Year material while another said extremely buggy, older graphics, nasty bug where they couldn't complete the game, and some of the stuff that made the first game interesting might not exist. Also seems a big hoopla over the fact the game will use denuvo for its DRM. Also, seems like games started to arrive to some people before the official release, mostly console players. The developer put a message out asking people not to play the game (sure, that might just work) until release day because expecting big day #1 patch. Which maybe lends itself to being true about the stability of the game need improving.
In any event, just curious whether other folks thinking about this one....although I recently picked up the first version, haven't had much time in it yet. Probably should finish that one first anyways and wait for a sale, but that typically doesn't happen as I like new shiny things:)

I really enjoyed the first one until about 2-3 hours in when I got to a point I just could not advance past...probably a problem with me aging brain not understanding what I was supposed to do in parkour, etc. I really wanted to like it.
I just started playing the first game a few weeks ago, but I've been having a lot of fun with it. I've played about 15-16 hours, but not that far in the main story. I've been doing side quests and exploring/gathering supplies. Like Gus, the biggest thing that has bothered me is the rapid ramp-up in difficulty. I really hate it when games are designed like that, and I'm afraid it may keep me from ever finishing it. So, while very interested in the second one, I imagine it will follow the same design principle. I'll see if I am able to continue, and pick up the sequel for a sale price later on if things aren't as bad as I fear.
^I am happy to see it's not just me, but at least you got 15 hours out of it!
If you have any advice for getting past the train yard, very early in the game, I'm all ears. I'm sure it is something relatively simple but it never clicked with me, even after searching for help online at YouTube, etc.
I feel like I missed an opportunity to enjoy a great game (now series).
When I play these type of games, I always play on "story mode" or whatever the easiest level is. Usually that helps me overcome my inability to play these games and otherwise I wouldn't get far in these games. Yep, I know that make me a lesser person, but its my game and I will play it how I like:) I also like using controllers, which also don't sit well with some folks:)
There's a story mode in Dying Light? I am even a lesser lesser person for not knowing this.

First version had story mode and a number of other games have it....not sure if the second version will or not. Assumed it would, but don't know.
Hmm I wonder if that would help me get past that one spot...

Over 20 reviews. Many positive but some are talking about a uninspiring disappointment.
Make your choice :
As dead inside as the zombie hordes
It's a big disappointment
Techland's open world zombie parkour sequel is bigger and better than the original
A big game and, for the most part, a good one
Those hoping for a terrifying zombie slasher will likely be disappointed, but this is still an exhilarating action game
Yep, starting to see reviews as well, kind of mixed with good/bad...seems like a number of them reporting bugginess, one even mentioned on par or worse than Cyberpunk.....recommended waiting for future sale and patches.
Still have a couple of days decide before it releases:) But without any big incentive, not in a huge rush....
Like me some zombie games, tried the first one but there was to much parkour for me. Looks like the second one is more of the same.

Saw somebody state the second version will have 3 difficulties...easy, normal, and hard. Guess we will see if accurate.
Fingers crossed 8)
Saw the planned day one patch contains 1000 fixes....wonder how many more to go:)
:o
For those that have technical issues with this kind of DRM, this was posted 2 days ago and is confirmed by Techland: Added 3rd-Party DRM – Denuvo

Of course bought it, was there ever a doubt:)
Have you dithered with it yet?
Just few minutes but hope to over weekend....it at least started up which is good for me as bunch of people had issue doing that at the start:)
Really? Damn.
Think most got corrected with a start parameter but wasn't great start
