Another bolt from the blue! GOG.com is offering the King of Dragon Pass (http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/king_of_dragon_pass/) for $5.99 U.S.
Amazing game. If you don't have an iPhone or iPad, then get it for the PC.
I've been racking my brain, but I just do not remember this one. It's really worth a purchase?
Never heard of this one before. However, after looking at the PR on the site I am interested. SoM can you extrapolate on "amazing game?"

Yes. Particularly at that price.
It plays something like a Choose-your-own adventure, but it has tons of character, lots of replay value, and still is highly strategic.
Your first playthough will have a huge learning curve, but keep at it. I played the iPhone version for about 11 hours in a car non-stop. For $6, that is pretty good value.
Hmmm....I didn't see any screen shots. Is this a text only game? Like the original Zork?

No, but it doesn't contain any amazing eye catching visuals either AFAIK. Have a look at this brief YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOxc_5o1TXo).

Got it...it might be worth the price just for the sound track. Thanks.
I couldn't help myself and bought it. Its fun so far although I am still trying to figure it out and not starve my clan. I could see how this would be great on a mobile device to pass the time.
The game sounds really different. I found one review that seemed to be detailed and based on game play.

Seems like a combination of a choose-your-adventure book and Civilization.
He was playing it on an iPhone.

For Pete's sake, Montfort, if you couldn't even get up out of your car and walk into the house for 11 hours because the game was so addictive, that is impressive gameplay! Did you wear one of those astronaut diapers?
:)
i got it and still don't know what i should do. are there any guides on the net? or SoM take me by the hand and guide me to dragon pass! btw i am no dragonnewt, nor do i smell like one.
Kikoskia (http://www.youtube.com/user/Kikoskia/videos?query=King+of+Dragon+Pass) has a series of Let's Play Dragon Pass (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivCx-uh4A4Y&feature=plcp) videos at YouTube.
I hope that helps you out.
