A brilliant song from a brilliant song writer:
Me? BoC work. Combat Mission tournament moves. And I really want to get some time playing with the CMO updates...
Great song choice Tripoli. Some solitaire boardgame action this weekend: Warfighter: WWII by DVG games.
Damn, is it Friday again already? I haven't even opened all my Christmas presents. :o Trying on for size, 'Solasta: Crown of the Magister'. Have a great last weekend of 2022 Grogs! O0
I may try to dip into Dwarf Fortress, in between turns of PzC Salerno. My Fallshirmjagers have landed on Crete and are fighting an uphill battle. So bloody. Definitely some DCS in 4090 too. Such a joy to not have to worry about performance and FPS! \m/
Will also try to start on some mini prints with my new resin printer. I set it up in my garage and it's been a bit too cold, but its finally warmed up some and I have a heating mat and thermostat on the way.
Happy New Year everyone!
Shopping for a new kingdom to start another, properly financed campaign in Knights of Honor 2, starting an Eastern European campaign and some skirmishes in Age of Empires 2, perhaps some Field of Glory: Medieval 2 along with the 1100AD mod for Rome Total War 2 and a new campaign as Bohemia in Attila Total War with the 1212AD mod. I think that about covers this weekend's list of '2' games on the docket.
Hoping to also set up my VR set and start some WWI era flying, along with some Star Wars flying, as well.
Happy New Year all!

Well I got back from my brother's. Had to give my nephews their Steam Cards (next time: get them BEFORE DEC.- avoid the rush) Listened to my RUSH -
Moving Pictures 40th anniversary 3 CD Set (mostly the unreleased Live in YYZ (Toronto 1981!) and my brother gave me a gift from an aunt of mine. It was a Quilt of Valor.
So off today - working tomorrow (Closing) Opening New Year's and Working Monday afternoon. Betwixt that is either A) working on my Lego Galaxy Explorer (Yep I got one!) I was 9 years old when it first came out. or B) Me and Dogmeat exploring the Capital Wasteland in Fallout 3 GOTY. Probably going to be browsing the Steam and GOG sales and next week is time for my anniversary coupon with Matrix!
Tripoli- good song. My parents saw him in concert. One of my favorites from him is Roads to Moscow
Great under rated singer songwriter you showcased there Tripoli.
"Child's View of the Eisenhower Years" and "Shah of Shahs" are always on my You Tube playlist. He is great at incorporating history into his songs.
After a break I am going to be starting a new KoH2 Campaign this weekend after my surprisingly successful Scotland run.
^Did you...dare I say...win the Scotland campaign?
CJ I loved Fallout 3, go for it.

Saw Rush for the first time in 1980. Missed the Moving Pictures tour due to moving to Texas from Florida but made up for it with two nights on Signals.
Just had to say you have great taste in Music and Lego!

Win the Scotland campaign just gives me the impression that people are spearing the earth itself because the dirt and trees are what they have to beat.
Win your campaign in Scotland
Win your campaign against the Scottish
England team..... NOOO I say English team. :) But I am in the wrong here as I have see that language has changed and I need to move on. All things seem to have had the "people" taken out of them and the "land" put in as substitution. It's just the way it is.
What do I intend to play?
War of Rights - The American Civil War continues. The other day I fell into the trap of mentioning that this game was about the civil war and got the response "which one" lol. I was suitably reminded that their have been many Civil Wars. The one in England only a few hundred years earlier than the US one coming to mind right away. I was suitably embarrassed and will try to be more mindful in future.
DCS(hopefully)
ACT OF WAR. Strangely enough I have been enjoying Eugens reboot of act of war.
Steel Division 2. Some friends and I played this one for the first time in a long time and one of my friends in particular failed to remember almost everything. Thus the game dragged on for over and hour and it stressed me out. Because we were basically covering his portion of the map as well as our allocated sectors. Not easy but somewhat interesting.
On a lark, and not knowing much of this history of this event (thus, applying YouTube to solve this issue), I got English Civil War from Matrix, so I'm looking forward to this.
Huzzah!
Stay safe out there, folks!

Sounds fun. I'm playing The Troop and boardgames, Maybe HLL and maybe DCS
I might try Valheim for the first time after buying it from the steam sale.
I bought Escape from Tarkov on sale. I'll find out how punishing and hard core it is.
Field of Glory II
Vampire Survivors
Have a safe new year Grogs!
Gus/Destraex
I won "as Scotland" only in the sense of meeting my own self imposed ambition of taking all of the British Isles for the Scottish Crown. I was nowhere near winning under the game's own victory conditions !
I agree Destraex re not winning "the Scotland Campaign", but Gus deserves some slack as due to a catastrophic error in 1776 his forebears chose to distance themselves from the British Crown and also the strictures of the King's English. :).
The fact the King of England at the time could barely speak English being of solid German stock, is not something that is mentioned in polite society...... ;)
Great song.
Mostly playing my Scotland campaign in Knights of Honor 2. Slowly growing (10 hours of gameplay) and i gained 3 provinces so far. Taking it slowly. Then some Interstellar Genesis and Stronghold Warlords if i manage.
Happy New Year

A brilliant song from a brilliant song writer:
Great song to listen to while I'm on the border of the year of the cat 8).
More Shadow Empire and maybe Panzer Campaigns (Scheldt '44 or Bulge '44).
Wishing the best for New Year doesn't seem to work very well lately, so this year I'll limit it to Putin with the very worst wishes.
Playing Wilderness War - French & Indian war board game. Just lost a big battle unexpectedly, a motley crew of French Beaver hunters & Indians routing my large British & Colonial force. The odds calculating wargamer in me thinks "that shouldn't happen" - the historian in me says "well, it actually did" - well done on a well designed game!
In my defense, in 1776 my ancestors were in Poland and Belorussia and probably never even heard of North America. But if they had, they probably would have sided with them :)

Guilt by association. C:-)
We will give you a fair trial then hang you. ;)
^As expected hahaha

I may try to dip into Dwarf Fortress
There's a lot in there, and (for me at least) it requires a fair amount of mental gymnastics to hold in mind the 3D picture. Then there's also figuring out the quasi-physics involved with water-flows. I am enjoying the game, but some of it is not intuitive. For example, in order to make a well, you need to have pre-produced rope, a bucket, a "mechanism" and some stone blocks - each of which requires a separate workshop and raw ingredients. Also see above about waterflows.
Alternatively, laying railroad tracks for mine trucks is just a case of selecting from the menu and clicking where you want it (provided you have enough lumber). But then you have to program what the trucks do.
I could go on endlessly...
TLDR: One does not just dip into Dwarf Fortress...
Finally getting into Warhammer 3 now that the price is down to around $35. Having a blast with the Iron Dragon campaign. Truly amazing playing an entire world now. With all of the different factions now in the game this might be the most replayable game ever...
My 83+ turn campaign in Dominions 5 playing as the gentle giants from Asdod continues.
