Title: Everquest II Contest
Post by: LongBlade on August 29, 2012, 12:43:51 PM
I know EQII isn't exactly our bread and butter but I also know we have a few MMO players out there.

Sony Online is running a contest that will allow you a chance to be flown out to their annual meeting:

Quotechance to win a free trip to all the festivities by entering the SOEmote Video Contest. The Grand Prize winner gets an all expense paid trip for two to the Bally's Casino resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, to take part in this year's SOE Live event!

I've repeatedly tried the Free-To-Play EQ2.

While it looks to have a lot of detail in the game mechanics, I've had a hard time getting into the game art and setting.  Since there are only a few classes you can play on FreeToP, you're also pretty restricted in what you can play since all the interesting classes have to be purchased.

I just think there are more interesting game mechanics available in MMOs these days.  EQ2 feels really generic to me, despite having lots of abilities for each class.  I'll probably keep trying to "get into" it but I just don't see it all that appealing (but rather bland).   :-[
