Considering they sit around 13% of the computer market, that's still a pretty big ask for a small share. Even less with gaming not included.
The entire VR/AR concept hasn't managed a strong hold despite offerings at a fraction of the price, and this is from a market that notoriously overspends on whatever the latest graphics card is offered, regardless of price.
This project is absolutely DOA at that price point with what it currently proposes to do.
