USS Ommaney Bay was a WWII escort carrier sunk by a twin engine kamikaze in January 1945 in the Sulu Sea.

I'm glad the ships location was not revealed.  The article mentions vandals have been cannibalizing's wrecks in the pacific for scrap metal.

Yeah, apparently steel manufactured before atomic bombs (aka Low-background steel) is worth a lot.
