Title: SGS Overlord Released Today
Post by: Grim.Reaper on June 06, 2024, 04:23:47 PM
Another wargame releasing some D-DAY content today, $20.  Too bad this game series still doesn't resonate with me so not a purchase for myself.

I've got most of their other stuff so I'll probably get this one as well.
The release of this crept up on me... though I should have figured they
would set it up for release today.
Trying to recapture the city of Hue right now with one of their other
titles.  Say what you will about the game system but their subjects are
just super-interesting.  WWI in Africa, the Taiping Rebellion....

Agree, subjects are great, just don't like the gameplay.  Seems they like to release in quantity versus mature their released products...but maybe just not for me.

Yes I love the subjects but do you find any of their games challenging? Or the AI any good? This is what turned me off...

I've got the Africa WW2 title but haven't played it yet - is it good?

Gamersgate has many of the SGS titles on sale, some the lowest I've seen.  I don't play'em a lot, but am tempted.

https://www.gamersgate.com/games/?query=sgs

Overlord is $19.99 (same as Steam)
Taipei is $9.00
We the People is $11.24
Korea is $9.00

Yeah these are the best prices I have seen yet and there is a coupon code I will have to consider now:

Thanks for passing this on. I picked up a couple of the titles. You are right, some great prices.

I have been slow to warm to the 'SGS way of war,' but am getting there now.

As a side note, for some reason, I had thought Gamersgate had collapsed and was gone. Of course I was very wrong. I was surprised to find my old Gamersgate account intact, with my old games still there. The last time I logged on was nearly 10 years ago.

For Gamersgate, use the coupon code of "GGD" and you'll get an extra 10% off on top of the low prices.
