Myth II: Soulblighter is literally my favorite game of all-time, and the Myth series is what led to me discovering Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord through a fellow clansman. Downloading everything now and looking forward to doing another full replay through the campaigns!!

Thanks for posting this! I just found my Myth II cd the other day and was thinking about trying to get it running or go look for my Myth I cd and try to get the 1.5 patch to work. This sounds like it covers all the bases. We had a lot of fun playing Myth multiplayer back in the day.
I was doing a different nostalgia trip recently in WoW Classic and made a dwarven fighter with engineering and did up a bunch of macros so I could use all the barks from the Myth dwarves during combat. Sadly I don't think many if anyone got the references lol. "Look out!"
Is Myth the game where you control groups a bit like in total war?
If so then I'm proud owner of the first Linux version. That was a big deal back then.

Yep, I remember it coming out for Linux which was a huge deal too (to me anyway). The game has no base management, you just get a fixed number of troops and have to do the best you can with them.
I played through "Crow's Bridge" (the first mission from TFL), and man it looks amazing!! So cool to see new life breathed into my favorite game!!
Good to know I remember right. I always mixed up Myth and Myst, which were active at the same time.
I remember dismemberment and gore being exquisite. Explosions in particular were very satisfying. :flaming:

Haha BIG difference! Myst was interesting when it came out, but that one ranks high on my "most overrated games of all-time" list. Myth was and is still like nothing I'd ever played before.

Haha yes, and now in full HD!! Dwarves and high-explosive type characters like the warlock were always the source of hilarious (and gruesome) fun!

OMG thank you for posting this. I LOVE the Myth games.
If we can get enough people, we may have to try and have a Myth gaming night online! I think there is still a way to play online to this day!
And if anyone has any doubts about this whole project - it is entirely free, downloadable now, and completely awesome!!
The remaster itself may be online co-op and competitive.
Update, unclear from the article, but I thought I saw something about that on a YT video earlier today.

Nice, I will look into it more!! And the installation isn't actually as bad as it seems... It really boils down to downloading 3 or 4 files and installing them to the Plugins folder!
I think Myth might have been the first game I ever saw that had cut scenes. I enjoyed it enormously but ultimately lost patience with my Dwarves throwing grenades too close to my foot-soldiers!
