Looks pretty stupid.
I like.
From what I gather, although the game is technically a prequel to D2016 and DEt (plus their DLC expansions), it's designed to fit between those two main games: after the revelations of D2016 (which serves as a sort of continuity cavalcade remake going back to the original trilogy, though I gather D64 acts as Doom3 instead of Final Doom), DDA explains (much of) the origin of the situation, setting up plotpoints resolved in Doom Eternal (and its two expansions). But evidently the devs left some story in TDA to be resolved with expansions before synching up fully with the start of Doom 2016.
.....annnnnd now you are insane! Sorry.
