Nah. Was good in its time but is inferior in every way to CMANO and Sea Power (depending on how many D's you like in your graphics).

Only if you're a collector like I am. ;)

I wouldn't.  It was an absolute classic back in the day.  I actually used it to train basic tactics to USNR officers. But CMO is so far beyond it now.  Not even close.

It doesn't have all the content introduced into HC throughout last 30 years by guys from Matrix.

Forgot to buy the Ultimate Edition when it was still available.

I am enjoying what little I've played so far, but I admit that Command Modern Operations looks like too much for me. I also missed the boat on the Matrix edition...

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I got sea power in the Christmas sale and after playing that, why would you ever play this ?

It was cheap and I had heard legends of Harpoon from back in the day and how good of a game it was.

I have Sea Power on my watch list. Until computing advances 5 years and I have a new rig, I'll buy it then.

Harpoon was my favourite game at the time and I played it a LOT. I still have the 1980s board game (played on a table top) sat on my shelves. It was a huge influence on Aurora.

I believe Hunt for Red October and Red Storm Rising were gamed out using Harpoon. Larry Bond was involved in both.
