Basically a horde mode for company of heroes 3 that can be played single or coop vs the A.I.
It's a separate title on steam. A stand alone game.
$29.99 to make a stand alone title when it should have been dlc to add a game mode to the main game... pretty questionable decision, and likely to piss off a large portion of their existing fan base.
Yeah to be fair it's 20% off for existing owners. It has also been pointed out that previous company of heroes titles expansions have been stand alone in the past. So it's not unprecedented.
What frustrates me is that what they describe as their "limited resources" were spent making skins and assets for this mode when the base game could do with another side like the Russians to complete the game. Now I know the devs have said they don't have the resources on the scale needed for another side. So I guess this is what they could do to try to bring some coin in.
We are still missing skins from the units they made for the enemy A.I. esclusively for this mode. We have a Tiger II with a massive Scorpion on the side for one of the boss tanks in final stand for example. I always got the feeling from comments the COH3 team devs made in the past that some would prefer "girls unt tunks" kind of gamified slop to actual ww2 inspired content. I mean the main media guy has actually said something like he'd love some anime style skins but the community would probably not have it.
I love the game though and think COH3 along with steel division 2 would be my RTS pick for the last five years.
