Lido Shuffle from Boz Scaggs' 1976 album "Silk Degrees". THis one is a blast from my past. I recall listening to it on a little transistor radio when it first came out while riding to school on a bus. Good times.
As far as gaming: BoC work and TFA work. I just purchased "Ukrainian Flight Drone Simulator" on sale, and may mess around with it a bit this weekend. This latest purchase was done more for educational purposes. Basically, I'm attempting to educate my aging baby boomer brain to about some of the TTP and capabilities of drone systems. There is a lot on my gaming plate.
IL-2 Korea
DCS F-14B(U)
Drone Sector
Call to Arms: Gates of Hell
Geronimo
Sea Power
Oh my...

Amazing game. So much content!
Am on holidays for a bit atm so:
Manor Lords - I have a medium city that has taken me a few days to build so far and is still only medium. Learning the ropes and loving it. This game is pure quality.
Star Citizen - Had a ride in my friends Gaten Railen last night. A nice ship and one that is very easy to load with cargo. We did two runs and made about 500k each. Which doubled my current in game wallet.
Company of Heroes daily challenges, this gets me closer to being able to complete collecting all the skin sets. They have a new patch coming which will hopefully pull a lot of players back to the game. Add to that the new separate cooperative coh3 game that is releasing soon "final stand" and coh3 is looking like it could shine like it should have at launch very soon.
Sanctuary Shatter Sun demo I was not as impressed as I thought I would be by this game. It is still nowhere near being BAR. Nothing is textured, wheels are not animated (yet), naval and air units are only in the demo for the enemy. Commands seem very basic so far in comparison to BAR. However I am betting the kickstarter backers who get a different version have access to much more. For example I know they get multiplayer access, where the demo players on steam only get access to one really long canned story mission.
I really enjoyed the mission I played and loved the units in it though. The mission lets you play with the weather which was super amazing. The game is set on a dyson sphere which has caretakers you can upset if you mess with their weather control machines. The big draw from this is that you can reveal the inside of the dyson sphere by blowing up and therefore deforming the terrain. The mission showed this by having some orbital mirror controlled to do so. Not sure if this feature will be in anything but the campaign.
Hoping to play some Broken Arrow with a friend of mine - which they just announced a paid DLC for. I played my first multiplayer match and we lost in straight sets with me coming second score wise. The ELO on the other side was easily twice what we had on our side.
Sins2 should get a run. Sins2 is teasing the 4th faction at the moment with little story posts.
Holdfast is still getting a look whenever I feel the need to goof around without thinking at all.
Tried the new War of Rights cavalry for 5 mins and love it. There are so many games to play though and I am not currently in an ACW kinda mood.
The game still looks amazing and is a better line battle simulator than holdfast.

Bought task force admiral with a bit of a discount
I ran the vanilla coral sea scenario because that's the one the demo uses and I could watch some YT streamers as a tutorial - I sat amazed for (looks at steam) 5 hours and 18 minutes which includes some AFK time - what an absolute stunner of a game, the tension, the anticipation, the worry and watching the bombers dive and cheering on the devastators skimming the waves - it was awesome - I think the Japanese carriers are wrecked im waiting for my strike package to return before going again - there's a hole in the Lexington's deck but it's patched
Brilliant

I must be the only person in the wargaming community that doesn't like this game. I just cannot wrap my head around the way the control scheme and UI is totally different in every screen. I know, I know, I get it, it's going for realism. Everybody's entitled to be a contrarian about
something...
On the contrary. I don't think opinions that are not negative for the sake of being negative are a bad thing.
Heroes & Generals is back and, for me, nothing else matters.
Really stressed out lately from work and by the time I get home my brain is fried. Can't enjoy deep strategy games anymore. So an old school mindless shooter is just what I need at this point.

Yeah. I was playing space marine 2 today for that mindless stompy goodness.
It sounds like this place is burning you out, fast.
I ended up spending most of my weekend gaming time with Call to Arms: Panzer Elite. I had a lot of fun with it. There have been some major updates over the past several months making the game feel more immersive. I find the graphics and effects to be superb and the destructive environments, particularly towns, make fighting it out in suburbs particularly exciting. Every window can conceal a machine gun or bazooka team. Around every corner can be a Sherman or AT gun.
It's an easy game to jump into and start tanking it up.
I also spent some time in IL-2 Korea. This is also shaping up to be a fantastic sim. I'm trying to master the F-51 Mustang, which is a little challenging in take-off and landing. It's also pretty outclassed when facing off against modern Soviet jet fighters, but I enjoy the challenge of flying it in the early years of the war, particularly in the close air support or ground attack role. I have commented on it before, but the terrain and environmental effects are truly impressive. Clouds, fog, rain,light...its extremely realistic and not quite like anything else out there. I've also grown to love the F-80 Shooting Star, which until I started playing this sim, I had very little interest in. I've bought several books on the aircraft since and am fully invested now.

Yeah it really is. They won't hire the technician and the engineer I need to help me. I'm expected to handle the whole department myself.

The old why hire more people when we can burn out the ones we have. I have seen that many times before. Min Maxing tends to be Min to the point where things break. You see that particulary when a company of trying to sell and wants the books to look good.
