It's been almost five years since we've had Johnny Cash on the Friday thread. IMHO, too long a time.
Gaming? Not too much gaming this weekend. Possibly some War Footing, which I think is a pretty good little game. Maybe some TFA playtesting. Have a good one, y'all!
I downloaded the demos for Victory Banner, Silent Shark and (less groggy) County of Fortune, so will be looking to give those a spin (if I can get away from Transport Fever 3)
Maybe some Stalker 2 but more likely it will be The Witcher 3 again.
Having decided to rest from Aurora 4x I find myself play testing a game that is a cross between imperium galactic 2 and Aurora with graphics - solar imperium absolutely great game - definite purchase on release just needs some UI tlc and more research depth
Committed to sticking my toes into Civ 7 and after a while realised the sun had come up - only civ and aurora can do this to me - 7 hours!!! I'm amazed I didn't get deep vein thrombosis so that was a success
Sea power calls me - I just need to take the plunge
Shadow Empire
Maybe some Action PC! Football
Had a look at a few next fest games
Veterans Napoleonic Wars - This was he one people were saying looked very much like Ultimate General. Seems like it should be fun but I was a little bored for some reason. Combat seems very simplistic and without being able to build units in this kind of RTS setting, the combat really does need to be very deep. It has most of the usual things like buffs and debuffs, but units do not fast march on roads using the road column formation for example. I got excited when I saw thier was a road column formation. You cannot really zoom into units and they are all scaled down and very generic in their naming conventions. I can't tell if square is doing any good or if flanking is working.
It's not bad, it's just not amazing. Master of Command does a lot better for my money. But I hope this game evolves because it does have the potential to be better than master of command because you are not stuck on a small total war square map.
I also wonder how much A.I. went into making this game, some of it reminds me of the latest Shogun2 3 handed pictures style. It just made me think about what will happen when the A.I. runs out of stuff to train on. Are we to be fed psychadelic drug induced A.I. creations then to get new content.
I suppose their will be A.I. war reporters by then.
Some screenies for you guys. The campaign system reminds me of ultimate general civil war. The way you choose troops and armaments. But that style of game is kinda standard these days. So it's not unique. But the art still reminds me of UG.

I have been uninspired and didn't play for a while.
I have 4 games in my steam chopping cart. I have no idea whether they would make me play or whether it would be a waste of money.
