Its a short video but is apparently showing some actual in game footage.

Sweetness. Thanks for posting. It got my blood going. In a good way.

looks folornly at plans for new build with an i5!!!

Why do Romans always speak with English accents in movies and games?

same reason US film companies employ us Brits to play Americans for you - we is better actors than you

The i5 is going to be just fine man. Look at Shogun 2. It scales down in graphics very nicely without a huge hit on how the game looks. I'm pretty stoked for this game.
I'm not arguing with a sith lord!!!
Is there a rough eta so the beast is built and ready?

Maybe that explains why they hire Canadians and Aussies to play Brits... 8)
Romans have British accents in games and movies because the actors who played the Imperials in Star Wars had British accents. British accent = bad ass with dash of awesome. Menace and coolness. Bangers and mash.

I believe either in the 1st or 2nd quarter of next year.
^I'm not sure if that's correct. I read somewhere upon the announcement of Rome II that it would be the end of 2013. 1st or 2nd quarter seems awfully soon.

You probably are correct. I can't find any official word and the sites covering the game still have the date as 2013 TBA listed. I guess it would be kind of quick in the first couple of quarters. Knowing CA they probably will release just before Christmas.
I can't find anything definitive either. I'm also still a little bitter the next game is not Victoria: Total War.

I would have guess you would be begging for a Steam Punk: Total War. Yeah try to get that image out of your head. 8)
I'm going to have dreams of Europa Barbarorum 3 tonight.....not that were likely to see that anytime soon for R2TW. I may have to break my vow to never get another TW game if this actually turns out to be good.
I'm a realist...but that would be awesome. With Fall of the Samurai I really thought they were going to go forward into the late 19th century...with steam ships and trains and all. Oh well.
I just don't think the TW game design works well for modern combat. It works great with clashing sword and shield walls and lines of archers. The Nappy game is pretty good but again the units are in a formation that you just don't see in modern warfare. "Hey look! It's a square of airborne infanty! Quick form the line!"
I agree to an extent...Fall of the Samurai is solid. But then again it does have a varied mix of melee and more modern troop types. TW is at its best in the ancient or medieval era though. So Rome 2 should be "their best game yet" with everything they have learned.
I'm just a sucker for the Victorian era. And boobs.
Well who can argue with boobs?
I've seen plenty of people try.
*Guffaw!*
I'm just happy they've got the elephants back again, English accents or not. :o
Only one??
well it was for getting milk out, i never really thought of the benefit of doing 2 at once - although during those sex starved days of post natal soreness i would have paid to watch her do that
:o
And a subtle line in the sand has been crossed here today.
too much?
Wow, what a way to start the morning. :P
In much of my past experience, the boobs always start the arguments. Usually I get along just fine with them until that point. In other non-boob related news, an announcemaent at TWC says there'll be Steamworks mod support soon for Total War like at present for Skyrim. So now there'll be hundreds of TW mods to try, compare and complain about. I may never need to buy another new game the rest of my life. Leaving more time for... boobs.
I do want to kiss you right now but I don't know if I can believe the news about Steamworks...
Well OK. But I don't have very big boobs.
I can overlook that.
^What a wonderful thing that would be :P
TWSP!

Sorry chaps, I was miles away there, in a little world of my own. I have not assimilated the boob parts yet (so to speak) my mind still being on the idea of Total War Steam punk - I'll get around to the boobs later.
Steampunk Total War would actually be better and more fun to play with than most boobs. My wife's excepted, of course.
Can't you do both at the same time? Not really well I suppose. And boobs tend to be very selfish in their attention. My favorite TW would be Time-Travel TW where you could take the US Marines from ETW back to fight Alexander or a pack of War-Elephants forward to carve a path through NTW's Old Guard. Let them form one of those fancy squares against that.
That's what the kids call 'the crazytalk' ... reminds me too much of Empire Earth, a game I hated so very very much.
