They have to be. If they aren't...I give up. The idiots will have won. Could it be possible those defense computers are actually part of the web? The press release did mention that the computers involved were not classified...

People have to realise that nothing on the web is totally secure. What is safe today, will not be tomorrow astechniques advance.
