I so want to get into it again. I liked the Italy Demo but Normandy would be cheaper. What's the difference? as i understand Italy runs with a new engine. The Normandy demo on mac had issues while Italy run smooth.
what are the opinions?
CMFI has the most upto date graphics, options, editor and UI (the v2.0 engine)
CMBN is yet to receive the v2.0 update which will be about another 10 pounds/euros
You dont need to upgrade to v2.0 on CMBN but the next module, Market Garden, will require CMBN to have the v2.0 upgrade
Keurnert honestly I'd just pick the front you like best and go with it. Eventually you'll need to upgrade with CMBN for market garden. I suspect that CMFI will get the African campaign in addition to the Italy stuff.
you both had no issues with Normandy? i think some review mentioned that the new engine was faster even though the models and landscape got more details.
I haven't had any issues.

i'd look at v2.0 as an improvement not a fix - there was nothing wrong with CMBN but CMFI has just polished a few edges with the new engine
I had no problems with CMBN; CMFI is prettier. Go with your favorite front like Bison says.
Agree. Not alot of difference between the two for me. The v1.01 patch has improved FI a little. FI's maps are much more open and the terrain now has genuine hills. The 3 campaigns for FI look to be excellent but the Commonwealth add-on for BN also had great campaigns. They're alot of user-made scenarios for both games at the Battlefront site for download too.
