Title: Tacticular Cancer Interview: Strategic Command WWI Breakthrough!
Post by: Hubert Cater on November 26, 2012, 12:30:19 PM
For a behind the scenes look at some of the operations for Fury Software and how the game engine for the Strategic Command series has evolved over the years, I submit an in depth interview from our lead designer Bill Runacre as he discusses things with Tacticular Cancer and the new Strategic Command WWI Breakthrough! expansion:

What a most peculiar name for a website.  Had a look but it doesn't seem to be a wargaming-for-medical-research-charity type of set up.

I have always hated that website's name, but they tend to have very good articles.

Thanks for stopping by Hubert and thanks for the links!

Strange name indeed....kind of feels weird going to that place, but does look like some useful material....I wonder how many, if any, folks avoid the site just because of the name?

Agree on the oddity of the name.

From the article one line that caught my attention was

"In the more immediate future I am hoping to design a Franco-Prussian War campaign that should be made available as free downloadable extra content for Breakthrough!"

Looking forward to this.

Interesting article.  My favorite was:
"Work is underway on a new engine and graphics system, using hexes rather than tiles. This will take a while as we need to ensure that the end result is a distinct and definite improvement on the present format."

Use of squares instead of hexes, overall graphics & naval warfare are the only three nits I have with the otherwise fine game.
