Title: ...so whats on your Christmas list this year?
Post by: steve58 on December 09, 2012, 05:04:08 PM
The wife has been asking what I want for Christmas.  I think I'm going to tell her I'd like a TrackIR 5 (http://www.amazon.com/TrackIr-Premium-Head-Tracking-Gaming-Pc/dp/B0029M6VKA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1355090559&sr=8-1&keywords=trackir)  :)

From the computer game category I have XCOM and StarCraft II.  I also asked for STEAM gift cards as I will be using those when the big STEAM sales come along.

I would like more free time to go hunting and shooting.

If I could get that it would be awesome.

We don't have gifts. Only the children get them.

torn between 2 at the moment - either Command Ops, after i inspect the demo and tutorial vids some more, or im sorely tempted by the 17 C & C games collection for £25, im always yearning for some C&C original action - the one and only RTS i poured hours into my only doubt is the rose coloured spectacles effect

That C&C bundle does sound tempting

Even though I am the n00biest of n00bs with Rise of Flight I would love to see the Channel map released for the holidays.

Sleep and no family melodrama.  Seriously if I get that I'm a happy man.  I also know that I'm not getting any games but you can be sure I'll be my own Santa for a few.  :D

Smug Protestor II: The Aspartame Chronicles?

Rank up to level 4 and you get to tag your own protest signs!  Level 6 and you get to lead a drum circle.

I'm taking it easy, saving up for a downpayment on a house. I still have the rifle fund though... and that carbine thread has remotivated me. :)

Game-wise: not much left.  Maybe Wargame: European Escalation, if it goes on sale somewhere.  It is the last game from 2012 that I have yet to try.  And I am excited by the announcement of the forthcoming AirLand Battle expansion.

Game-wise: There isn't anything out at the moment that I want, that I don't own. Dishonored is the only game I'm looking at right now, and I'm sort of split on it.

Hardware: I really need a new mouse, keyboard, and game board. I've had my current razer gear for 3-4 years now and there starting to go out.

More then anything I want the Packers to win the Super Bowl.

Of new/recent releases that I haven't bought yet, Commander: The Great War is about the only one that really interests me right now.  Otherwise, the games I'm eying are still in development (such as Distant Worlds: Legends, Rome 2 TW, and Eriador: Masters of the Broken World).

Of new/recent releases that I *have* purchased, I believe Crusader Kings 2 is the only one in the last several months.  Otherwise, there aren't many new games that are "must-haves" for me.  Just about anything else I'm seriously looking at getting or have already purchased are now relatively older releases, such as Shogun 2 TW (in the former case) and Hegemony Gold (in the latter).

We'd better brace for that possibility, because they're on top of the NFC North now...  :-\

Go Packers; I'm a UK footie (soccer) fan myself but some reason have always had a soft spot for the Packers, might be that they were pants when i was growing up.

I will look at the Sales if any pennies left; Matrix Sales still too high for me, but looking forward to the new Sim City and Rome 2 if it makes it next year.

Oh and playing with my new Galaxy Note 10.1 tab that the wife has bought me :)

Mostly books for me:

I am a big fan of Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin series, so this would be great to have:

I also like Norman Friedman's comprehensive design studies.  Wish I'd bought this when it was still in print...

My family thinks I'm nuts for spending more than $40 on a book...but my wife has begun to understand.  :)

I'm still a little kid when in comes to Xmas, so I asked for toys.

First, I really want one of those new Kindle Paperwhite thingies because I use my Kindles every day.

Next, on the off chance my wife is feeling spendy, I asked for a Logitech G27 racing wheel to mount in my Obutto.  I'm not really into sim racing (yet), but I could be if I had a decent wheel setup.

Finally, I'm feeling pretty fleshed out on the gaming front (although there are a few Matrix titles I'm still eyeballing like Field of Glory and Empires in Arms), so I asked for a bunch of boardgames this year: Next War: Korea, The Hobbit (the one with like 50 figures in it), Hornet Leader CAG, Wrath of Ashardalon and I can't remember what else.  I'm curious to see what, if any, Santa brings.
