Tracking this game, im unsure about it - i never got caught up in the emotion of the new XCOM v old XCOM having never played the original in its hey day, but many a rainy Sunday afternoon was spent crashing into the sides of a docking station on my old C64. I remember the mega manual, the ship ident poster on my wall and the big black shiny box it came in.........
..........but it does look frikking awesome

Keeping my eyes on this one as well. If he'd had footage like that to begin with, he'd be well over-funded by now. Might be time to check out his Kickstarter page again to see if I can still buy in at a comfortable (aka semi-cheap) level...
Incredible new video for Elite Dangereous

Hey, amazing how actually showing off the game a bit will get people to fund...
Seriously though, can he please rename this? It sounds like a bad 80's hair metal band.
Time is getting short, looks like it might be close, but I suspect he'll make it...

I am spending almost as much on Kickstarter as real games.
Call me a sucker but some have panned out nicely and others
....well I am patient.
29000 to go in 56 hours
I folded and threw in my money.
But I still remember crashing into the space station
9,351 times trying to dock. The patience I had in
those days!! I remember playing it with my 18 month
old son on my lap. He was yelling:
"Dada go BOOM!! Goddam!!" every time.

29000 to go in 56 hours
...not a problem. Just exceeded his goal.
@Longdan -- I caved as well and for more than I'd planned on originally ???

Currently at £1,265,909...and hopefully on the way to the £1.5 million stretch goal (another 10 playable ships in the game) :)
Elite Dangerous is closing in on $2.5 million with 2 hours to go. The £20 (~$32) pledge keeps becoming available/unavailable (I guess as people modify their pledges), so its still possible to get in at a good price...
I lost patience and went with the higher price.
Maybe when it comes out somebody will be able to say
"Grampa go boom! Goddam!"
Last video before funding ends in an hour...

...nice footage of a damaged ship.
This game looks great. I'm kind of in a game funk now of sorts. Not the usual "nothing of interest" but one the results from indefinite delays. Games I really want like Longbow's Rome game, x rebirth, command modern naval warfare, the EB 2 mod for M2TW, the tactical civil war game by matrix that was called Brother against Brother (not sure what its called now)..wtf?...all seemed to be constantly delayed indefinitely. I find it hard to get excited over these kickstarter games now because I feel like the same thing will happen. Is it me or is there a ton of cool stuff out there heading to potential vapor-ware?
