There isn't much combat - it's mostly trading and building some manufacturing buildings, and weaseling your way to a leadership position in town(s). It's the exact same thing as the newer
Port Royale 3 but in a different location and earlier era. Unfortunately, PR3 had it's sale price raised back up - someone got that for $3 at GG or something recently.

Seriously, don't use the client. Log in through the web page and buy there...you won't get slow downs and crashes. Then log in to the client later and start downloading.
Seriously thinking about the new Hitman. the main complaint seems to be that it's more action-y, but that was the same complaint about Splinter Cell : Conviction and I quite enjoyed that. Hmmm...
Only thing I'm sort of interested in if the price point drops is Anno 2070.

doesn't seem to me that it makes any unusual demands on your system. I have a fairly mid-range setup, and it runs fine for me. I do hear on the huge star maps things can start to slow down, but i haven't played those myself. On your standard 4-5 player map, things work great for me. Don't know if there is some memory leak, but I do notice that, if you play for like 50 turns, things do start to slow down. If you reboot, things seem fine again. For me, 50 turns or so would take several hours on end, so it's not an issue.

The THQ bundle is one of the best gaming deals evah. Company of Heroes, Warhammer 1,2
The rest is basically crap, in fact i have a lot of it under the category crap. lol Saint's Row for example. Pure anarchy game. Give me a break.
CoH and Warhammer are fairly long campaigns in several packs. The skirmish mode with many maps gives buckets more value. I mostly do skirmish now. The Ai in CoH can be really annoying, it seems to be a better version of the WH engine.
I see the have CoH 2 coming up. That will be one to get.

I'm inclined to say no -- still a bit to steep in my view.
i picked it up on the last steam sale -- think it was like $15, which seems right to me. $5 difference here or there may not matter to you, but I have this (perhaps misguided) idea that when things hit the $15 sale threshold or below, they're truly 'on sale.'
I genuinely love Sins and think it's a brilliant piece of gamemaking on Ironclad's part. Still, none of the 'micro' expansions have seemed all that earth shattering to me. I bought Entrenchment when it came out, but skipped Diplomacy.
I guess if you're upgrading from vanilla or Entrenchment to Rebellion, there is a fair bit of new content that does make the game deeper and more enjoyable. But for me, it's not quite $20 worth of better-ness.
(These sales really spoil you. I now just expect to pick up excellent, highly polished games for $10-15. Makes me feel guilty ... but I get over it quickly.)

Good price. I may have to pick it up for $10. GG seems to be havng much better deals than the Steam Winter "sale"...
I'd pull the trigger on Sins Rebellion at $10 (having previously done so when it was at $15).
Overall though, my reaction to GG, Steam sales is decidedly "meh" -- the sales around Thanksgiving seemed a lot more enticing --
Grabbed Rebellion and had enough Blue Coins so I ain't gonna count this as a "buy" :P

Also, I've heard that Titan Quest (and its expansion) are very respectable Diabclones. Aren't they part of the THQ bundle?

any defenders of Pacific Storm? It's $3.74. I seem to recall this being in the "interesting in theory but bad in execution" category of games. My intuition is telling me to avoid this, even at this give-away price.

Yes, Titan quest is ok as a Diablo clone. After 1 and a half diablo's ( never bothered finishing 2, don't remember it if I did) its not much fun. I do remember it now, top right corner of the final map. Huge horde tries to trap you in the catacoumbs...
If you haven't done Diablo, or if you go as a party with friends TQ is prolly pretty good.
I enjoyed Titan Quest more for the classical setting than anything else. The ARPG side of things had some decent variety in the skill tree areas, albeit nothing terribly astounding. I thought the itemization could've used more variety but it was somewhat passable.
Titan Quest is the best Diablo-like I've played. The setting is fantastic and there's lots of replayability thanks to the mixing of classes. I recommend it highly.

the best Diablo-like ARPG I've played, regarding mechanics and content, but it's a decent one. I'm preferring
Torchlight 2 right now because it's even more Diablo 2-ish (but with improvements) despite the cartooni-ish textures. One big difference is that
Titan Quest doesn't have any procedural generation of it's zones, so once you've been through somewhere, the monsters and map are all exactly the same. That always kinda bummed me about it.
The creators' next one, a Steampunk ARPG named
Grim Dawn,
does have some randomization like that in it's maps, however, and I've been checking it's progress out on occasion:

They have some Alpha screenshots posted. Looks like it uses the same engine as TQ did, but I prefer the isometric 3D view to 1st person much more, for a few reasons.
I am really looking forward to Grim Dawn. Been tracking it. Progress has seemed slow though. Probably because I want it badly.

If you are going to get it, get Pacific Storm allies......it is good fun...has strategic game and also an rts adjunct...its worth $3.74

Actually, the Blood Ravens apparently are now an official chapter. I wonder if that means they came up with a back story for them, or if their origins are still mysterious?
