Title: Anno 2070
Post by: Bison on December 23, 2012, 10:30:10 PM
Anyone play this game?  I started it up tonight and it looks awesome, but where the heck is the tutorial?  The campaign lost me at the very beginning when I had no idea what to do in game.  I need some help here boys.

I got a notice it is on sale but was worried about the DRM.
I hates to give those guys money if they are still using
assumed guilty cutomer DRM.

I really like it Bison. It has a complex supply and production chain, and that requires some management, but the fun of city-building and exploration is heavy.

Is there a tutorial though?  They sort of just dump you into the middle of story line without any basis overview of the UI or supply/production chain.  I suspect its much like the older Anno games but with a cool furturistic look.

longdan I think you do need to be online to start the game but aren't always dependent on their server afterward.  I'm not sure and I'm sketchy on it too.  That whole thing really ruined Settlers 7 for me.  The server would drop you or stop responding an you couldn't play and all progress was lost.

I don't have it myself but I found this (http://forums-de.ubi.com/showthread.php/39691-Noobs-Guide-by-greenCHEESE-%28Youtube-links-in-build-guide-section-at-end-Essential-Reading-4-Production-Chains%29*NEW*-production-calculator) "definitive" noob guide on the forum.

I have the game too and I've found that the campaign eases you into the working of it quite well?

Lol, no I didn't mean it like that, Bison! :)
It was more me questioning wether I had played a tutorial or a campaign...

^Steam Keys? I bought one of the Farm Sims (Hey! I gotta be me!) hoping the keys would work in Steam but no dice  :(. I hate keeping track of downloads whenever these sales happen so Steam is my preferred lazy link to re-installs.

EDIT: decided to take the plunge. I did notice that the Deep ocean DLC is only $19 on Steam but $29 on GG. Probably not compatible across platforms though. :-\
