EA is shutting down more of its servers. Check out this list (http://www.ea.com/1/service-updates) for specifics.
I hope there are single-player modes for the games concerned.
Sims2 is sort of surprising. I'm not overly surprised they are shutting down the sports servers. That'll force people to upgrade to a newer version.
I dislike EA a lot. I resent giving them my money.
Unfortunately i have a daughter and some nieces
who just love Sims and some other EA products.
It's they new way to force people to buy new games.
One of the main reasons why Battlefield 3 has no private servers.
And many of their games have critical online components (or are entirely online like Darkspore).
I don't like the policy of selling games with MP then abandoning the product without permitting private servers to host games. It's not as though it represents a cost to EA. I don't play much MP, but if I did I'd be tempted to boycott their products. If enough customers did that then they'd get the message not to disrespect their customers - what do I know........ :-\
^I like your way of thinking Boggit but unfortunately not everyone thinks like that and EA knows it. That's why they continue to operate the way they do.
