For all of you that have Monday off, thanks to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. being born around this time, I salute you. Enjoy your extra day off. For the rest of us, even though our weekend be shorter, it just means we will play all the harder.
I picked up an old Crusader Kings II campaign ealier this week. Dynastically, I had backed myself in a corner. I had accepted a marriage proposal for my ruler that gave all our issue to him dynastically. That left a bastard who, although born before my marriage, was ineligble to inherit, the three sons and one daughter from my first marriage and after husband number one died, a daughter from my second marriage. Once my character died, it was game over.
So, my legitimate sons came of age. I gave both of them fiefs to rule. They promptly revolted, following their fathers footsteps. I captured each of them and had them imprisoned, where I executed them. Two down two to go. The girl I married off which left me my youngest boy. Literllay for the life of me, I couldn't figure out what to do with him.
My Queen was in her sixties, and it looked like it was game over when suddenly, a special event appeared which allowed me to legitimize my bastard! WOOHOO!!! Faster than epsom salts through a widow woman, I made him my heir, married him to a sixteen year old Swedish girl and then died. Talk about a stroke of luck! It's almost as if the game wanted me to continue.
Of course, a whole host of new problems arise. My new ruler follows a heretical branch of Christianity, so all of my vassals, including my wife, hate me. All of my old councillors jumped ship and I have to give away a goodly portion of my assets just to get back into everyones good graces. But at least I am still playing :)
So, CKII wil be one of the games I play this weekend. There will also be some Avernum Escape from the Pit. And maybe some Medieval 2 total War. I've got an old old save game where the Mongols have arrived and are systematically wiping clean the frontier. Maybe I can survive that, too. ;)

Bought Imperialism II last night and played 'til midnight. :P Never had it first time around... man do I suck at this game!
Will probably get the new DLC fer CKII and have a go at that.
Will also try and fianlly get Bloody April on my game table for a first go at the rules.
Continuing my run through the Mass Effect series. 3/4 way through ME2.
Scourge of War: Chancellorsville...
Not sure how much time I will have for gaming this weekend but the list of possibilities includes, League of Legends, Planetside 2, ARMAII (using Planned Assualt) and Commander: The Great War.
Not sure but will play CK II mostly, Imperialism II and probably a newly reinstalled Silent Hunter III moded up.
Maybe some Co-Op Flashpoint...

Looks like a Dominions 3 and Conquest of Elysium 3 weekend for me.
Since I'm obviously on a Fantasy Grand Strategy kick, I may also stick some Warlock:MotA and Eador:Genesis in there, if I feel like a short break from the marathon.
I installed Civilization II: Multiplayer Gold Edition (http://www.mobygames.com/game/civilization-ii-multiplayer-gold-edition) on my Windows 95 machine, so I'll probably play a little of that this weekend. I'm not absolutely sure what else--a little World of Tanks, Warlock, and Eador: Genesis most likely.
Far Cry 3.
It is so intoxicating to single handily walk into a pirate outpost armed with an RPG-7 and a PKM and wipe out everything that moves before they can set off the alarm.
I'm a little over half way through the story and will attempt to close this game out this weekend if possible.

CK II
Looks like a mostly CMBN:CWF week-end with maybe some Prussia's Glory II (Kolin and/or Kunersdorf) board gaming.
Evochron Mercenary, Scourge of War: Antietam and probably finish up my darthmod napoleon campaign
Great summary, MetalDog, but I'm afraid to ask about the origin of this remark...

Yeah, that's my Max.
Probably more Imperialism II. Also got back into Lords of the Realm II the last couple days.
I'm going to be splitting my time between Skyrim and Crusader Kings 2.
I was finally able to play the new DLC for CK2 last night. Started a game as the Doge of Venice and played for 10-15 years. I wasn't able to hold onto being Doge when my patrician died, not that I tried that early in the game, but was in line to succeed when the new one died. I had 5-6 trading posts around the Adriatic. I didn't seem to be making as much money from them as I though I would. 4 of them were within the same trading zone, I think you get a bonus for having multiple posts within the same trade zone. Even with 5 trade posts though I was only getting ~3.5 gold per month. I'm not sure, but I think the bigger your immediate family gets, the less gold you get per month. I seemed to notice that when a new kid was born, and Italians breed like rabbits, that my income would decrease. If so I think a viable strategy may be to only marry off your heir and maybe second oldest son in order to make sure you have a good chance at having a heirs, and leave any other males to die alone.
I also found an old backup save from my Kingdom of Italy game. It was right after I had taken Lotharingia, before I had formed the Kingdom of Burgundy, and before I had a really bad series of rulers that caused me to have 10+ years of civil wars against my vassals. Part of me really wants to play that game to the end, but I also don't want to go through all of that again. It was fun to play through the civil wars, but I only managed to hang onto my 3 kingdoms by a thread.
Planning on finishing up the Axis campaign in Unity of Command, and the some Kingdoms of Amalur. Maybe some Battles in Normandy if I feel up to it
I just bought Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition. Downloading now. Looking forward to sharing some thoughts on it.
Colonization for me. Maybe finally start a game of WiTP-AE?
I think it's time for play through 2 of Borderlands 2 before I begin on the DLC. Also, I'll spend a bit of time with 10000000, which is a fun little 'pick it up for 30 minutes before you have to go somewhere' kind of game.

I don't know the origin of the saying, but, it came to me from my grandfather. He was born and raised here in the Deep South and it was something he picked up here. Half the time I had no idea what he was talking about. Here's a few more:
Shoot Miss Agnes and four is eight.
That wouldn't last longer than a fart in a whirlwind.
That's like trying to shove butter up a wildcats a$$ with a red hot poker.
lol - I like the second one :)

Of course you know we expect pictures.
I'm on a Sword of the Stars 2 kick. About 200 turns into a game of the Sotsverse map that I'll spend most of my time on this weekend.
Skyrim. Lydia and I are up to our butts in Draugers in the Anilsund cave and we've discovered some She-Bitch Undead Goddess at the bottom. Those of you that know what's coming, don't ruin for me. Some very tough fights and good loot so far. A little Shogun 2 to fall back on if the She-Bitch turns out to be too tough.
I'm kind of in a chill mood, so CK2 sounds pretty good to me.
@Toonces if you ever want to go CKII MP, let me know. Kushan, UCG, et al., you can ping me on Steam, too. You are all on my Friends list.
I haven't felt like playing anything much this weekend, but after a long break I've finally returned to Guild Wars 2 and made a Norn ranger.
Currently first in coca cola league 2 with harrogate after 10 games - attendence is upto over 2000 per game - it was 275 when I started and my 2 loan signings are awesome - still only 19 pounds in the transfer kitty which is unspent in over 2 years now
Built an ai team to accompany mine in Iron Front Normandy who promptly wiped out the German garrison before I got there - need to sync the waypoints some more - the mg42 is fearsome
Finished imperialism II tutorials, steadying myself for the full game now
Was kind of in a gaming slump Friday.. Saturday Revisited SPWAW.. Today.. Total War Medieval 2 Britannia Campaign and watched the Patriots Lose... Go Niners!

The week-end took an unexpected turn. I got the latest IL-2 and torpedoed some ships with the Swordfish.
I played SoTS II more this weekend and it has grown on me. I have actually enjoyed it and the issues I was having is now gone. I am only >100 turns in, but I have found it great. Not sure if my fleets are large enough, only time will tell.
