This is a turn based game in the future with troops, armor and mek types with others in the works. Based on a 6mm ruleset, Exodus Wars. It has 3D maps and units with turns being pulses or activations or moves alternating on a player's initiative. Somewhat like Conflict of Heroes but without hexes or squares. Each unit has a range of movement with abilities within that range.
Currently in alpha funding. There is a demo and some gameplay videos.
If you are looking for something other than WWII, this looks promising.

Looks like it might have promise.
There is something about it over at Wargamer. But giant robots do not do it for me.
Great find, that looks awesome.
I'll add this to the three hundred other games I want that are "in development" or looking for funding on kickstarter...do any of these games ever get released? So frustrating.(not this game) just venting while I wait for the imminent release of EB II (for the last year)
I can relate Mike, I'm still waiting on Star Drive to be finished... It was the game that made me aware of Kickstarter.
I remember there was a thread about this here before, but I could be mistaken :P
Anyway, I've been playing it for a while now (the alpha), can't wait for the full version.

There was, but I'll be damned if I can find it. There was uncertainty over whether it was multiplayer or not, if I recall correctly.

Is it playable and fun in its current state? Looks like it has a really long way to go.
What I installed so far works. There is an AI and op-fire called overwatch. I've been sick and haven't given it a full shakedown.
That said, I think I'll get $10 worth of entertainment from it. Compared to a movie or meal or powerball tickets.
I don't have many games as I am picky. No real time or FPS or flight/driving sims. I did give $5 to Recruits and I think it will be too fast for me but I needed to try something different. Same with this game, I'm sick of WWII hexes and squares. I have CMSF but don't seem to be able to handle all the nuances.

Tpek, I notice you checking the forum there. Devs have been more aloof than I expected. Wish they would answer questions.
We got a new build with a desert map and more units. No LOS or LOF yet so hiding behind hills doesn't work.

I'm a supporter there, so that's why I have an account. Yet I do not exactly frequent their forum.
But I can say that I've been in touch with the devs some months ago and they were quite friendly back then.

EB II?
Maybe Rome Total War 2.
Since it will have a newer (2) version of the the Europa Barbarum mod. :P
Some updates to the Exodus War alpaha, a desert map and a new unit. More info here:

Looks like this finally made it to Steam as an Early Access title:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/297270
Hope they can pull it off because this looks like it has the makings of that PC version of Hammer's Slammers I always wanted. :)
Demo vid:
In spite of my efforts to wean myself off Early Access, I'm intrigued. My big question to any who have played it is if there is a strategic layer, or the campaign is just a series of connected skirmishes.
Being an old time Indiegogo backer I got my Steam key today and 2 additional keys for friends.
So... any "buyers"? :P
Depending on the answer to my question above, I might be interested.

This is available for Linux so I'm definitely interested! Looking at the system requirements however, I'm not convinced it would run well on my PC, so see if anyone else wants one first. :)

From the brief squizz I've had of it, the campaign looks to be a series of connected missions on different planets.
Its quite rough and ready. Animations are very basic. Some of my orders don't seem to take, and they drop back to regrouping - but then I haven't gone through the tutorials.
It seems quite simplistic. But no doubt as they develop it, it should put some more meat on the bones.
I was only sucked in because I saw they had mechs.
I got sucked into this because it looked very WH40K Epic-ish. Land warfare on a titanic scale. I'll echo what Spelk said...it is still very rough and development has been moving along at a snail's pace. For awhile, I was pretty certain the project was dead. However, they seem to have some renewed purpose and there have been some recent updates. We'll see...
I did get sucked in as well and will echo the previous remarks, plus add that the tutorials are short, non-interactive movies and not very helpful. Also, in what may be a first for a turn-based war game, there's no saving during battles, although one of the developers posted on Steam that it was "planned".
Gone in my wish list...happy to support any developer trying to ge that tabletop experience.
Instead of getting sucked in, why didn't you just message me via Steam or a private message or something for one of my 2 free keys? :P
Thanks to Tpek's generosity I now have a copy and it works on my PC! Result!
Quick impressions are that it's still clearly in a very early state. Not buggy (that I've noticed so far) but the sprites and animations are clearly placeholders. Hopefully the sounds are placeholders too; when I moved some tanks I whirled around to find the cat that was apparently dying somewhere in my house...
The tutorials, as noted, are just videos and, again as noted, not helpful. In fact they're already out of date, as the UI has changed a fair bit. Also, the one tutorial I really needed - to explain how to issue the basic orders and how combat works - is currently missing. As a result I was not able to issue fire commands to my units, being told every time I tried that my unit would lose coherency. I saw no way to rectify that.
There seems to be no easy way to know which units you've moved. Their icons do seem to turn a different colour on the main map, but I found myself selecting units from the unit list most often and that has no indication of activation status at all.
Apart from all that, the game certainly has promise, but it's way too early to tell how it will shape up. It needs a lot of work. The developers claim that the suppression mechanic is what will differentiate Exodus Wars from other turn-based wargames. I'm not an expert but I can't imagine suppression is a rare mechanic in the genre...?
Still, it could be good with a lot more development time, it supports Linux straight out of the box, and I got it for free so I'm not complaining at all. :) I'll keep you all updated as development progresses.
I too now have a copy thanks to Tpek!
Massive thanks Sir!
Exodus Wars just got an update. You can now see which units have been activated in the unit list which is a most welcome addition. Apparently the tutorial videos have been updated too, but I haven't checked yet. I was able to successfully fire at my enemy post-update so things are shaping up!

I too have been the recipient of this sort of free gift in the past. I am very impressed with the selflessness and kindness of regulars on this site. Weird when you think of how much we like to blow stuff up, smash zombie heads and wage war in our games.
I'm eager for them to bring back Hotseat (they had it in the alpha)
