Post by: Toonces on February 25, 2013, 11:04:19 PM
Duuuuuude! How did this slip under the radar?

This game looks fantastic.  Am I missing something?  I see a couple of you guys pre-ordered.  I think I'm going to as well!

ROCK ON!   8)

Tim Schafer + Jack Black = METAL AWESOME!

This has been out a long time for X-Box, but just not getting the PC treatment. Reviews were generally good.

I had it for the 360 and was enjoying it...up until my console became a brick. Now I'll play it anew on PC.

I remember reading about it in a magazine, but at the time I didn't have a console to play it.  I might go hunting through the used bins for it.

I played the game on XBox 360 (the first 50% at least) before my save game was screwed and I didn't want to start all over again.

The game is very cool (if you like Heavy Metal), Lemmy and Ozzy are NPCs in the game, and the entire game is somewhat weird and full of strange ideas. After 1/3 playing time, a RTS element is added to the game (which lead to negative feedback in some reviews). Personally, I was not a friend of this element either, the rest of the game was funny enough, but others like it, so it's a matter of taste.

I've pre-ordered it a while ago via Steam (and played the MP beta).
Downloading the full version right now.

Only thing is, I moronically bought the standard rather than the Soundtrack containing edition.  :-[
I just hope it will be available later on as a separate purchase.

Tpek is one of those guys that I can definitely see rocking out the 80's Big Hair Mullet.

That's actually quite a miss.

I tend to go around with a short haircut, and a trimmed half-beard.
Not to mention proper clothing (not torn jeans and crappy black t-shirts with band names on them).

And while I really like Metal, I don't tend to listen to the heavier stuff most of the time (infact I only listen to Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, Morghul and others when friends force me to :P).

BrĂ¼tal Legend is definitely on my PS3 to-finish list, although I'll have to re-learn how to play it all over again. I seem to be more than halfway through, but I haven't played it in well over a year and a half.

It's one of the few games I actually dream about (albeit on rare occasion), so it certainly digs into my psyche in some way. And aside from a handful of titles I'm not even that much of a fan of the music genre(s) the game is based on! Much respect to their love of the genre(s), though; enough so to subdivde the soundtrack into multiple categories.

(Be warned that the game's story ends in a heartwrenchingly bittersweet way!--when I doubted whether I'd ever get back to finishing it, I read up on spoilers.)

Do you have to have a guitar shaped controller like Guitar Hero or Rock Band?

The description said it was an open world.  Can I just cruise around jamming to the music in the game or do I always have to be "doing something"?

One of the things I loved about Vice City was just cruising the streets listening to the soundtrack.

You play coy, but we know better.

Absolutely not. (Assuming that wasn't a wry joke. ;) )

Toonces, uh... yeah, kinda. There isn't a whole lot to do--don't think Red Dead--but yes you can just tool around in the car listening to the soundtrack (which is easily accessible in the car), earning a few bucks on the side.
