Title: GoG Strategy Sale
Post by: airboy on March 08, 2013, 12:48:21 PM
www.gog.com is having an unusually good sale for wargamers who like strategy games.

Included in the sale are:
- All of the Age of Wonders games
- Eador Genesis - something much discussed on the forum this year
- Hero's of Might and Magic 3 Complete
- Hero's of Might and Magic 4 Complete
- Hero's Chronicles Complete
- King of Dragon Pass

Let me provide mini-endorsements only of games that I have played.
- Age of Wonders - a great turn based swords & sorcery wargame.  Played all of them and I think that Shadow Magic is the best
- Hero's of Might and Magic 3 Complete - one of the all time greats.  A huge favorite of many
- Hero's Chronicles Complete - If you played Heroes of Might and Magic 3 - this is the collection that you are to be LEAST LIKELY to have played.  It is enjoyable and fun - and cheap.
- King of Dragon Pass - This is an old school, complicated, RPG game based completely on choices.  This is something you either love or hate.  But this game is now compatable on a lot of platforms.

I cannot speak directly on the rest.

I'm a first time buyer at GoG, is there something I'm missing about processing my order at checkout. I check paypal and get nothing when clicking on processing order button. Anyways I thought I might get a prompt response that may penetrate the usual fog surrounding my mind.

...nope, should take you right to the Paypal page.  Maybe try a different browser?  I just picked up Eador:Genesis through paypal (using IE10)...

Steve that was great advice. It worked. I'm kind of excited to try Eador, time to spend the next few hours learning.

Yeah, I received an email about the sale last night.

Heaven help me, I could not resist grabbing some of them:  I picked up Eador: Genesis, both Age of Wonders and Aow: Shadow Magic, as well as HOMM3

I'm so very, very weak...

I fear myself when I go over to GoG because there are still a couple of dozen titles I haven't bought yet.
At xmas I got 20+ GoGs for about a hundred bux in one sweep.  Man that felt good.  Almost as good as beer.
And unlike beer, they were all still there, waiting, the next day.  Life is good.
