Arcengames have now started the beta on their next game Shattered Haven, which is a pre-order buy-in, with version 1 releasing on March 18th.

Its a sort of zombie apocalypse environmental puzzle game presented very much like early 2d sprite based zelda RPG's.

Chris Park released the first official footage of the gameplay

Zombies again?  ::)

They seem to be a weird take on zombies. They are called Greys. They develop from animals. Water kills them. Steel tools (hammer/scythe) do nothing to them!

From what I've played of it, its a bit like a 2d puzzler, with paths through each level being opened by the use of specific tools/abilities.

Some interesting info on the evolution of the design for the game.

Yeah that's what it looks like from the videos.  Quite a disappointment really; if they'd made it more of an adventure kind of game I'd have been all over it.

Still, it's Arcen, and I've bought every one of their games so far so I'll probably buy this one too. :)
