It's going to be Warlock and Civ IV BTS this weekend. A buddy of mine is trying to talk me in to SimCity 4 as well. We'll see what the old wallet holds if SimCity gets purchased and played.

Yes. I've been trying to tie the thread title into historical events that happened on the same day I started the thread. I've just added, "this Friday," to the rest of them. One hundred years ago today, the French arrested the self proclaimed Emperor of Vietnam. The other choice was a a massacre of a Russian village by the Germans in WWII. Wasn't feeling the proper level of evil to promote that event in a thread title.

Metaldog - The Wife has commandeered me for Saturday night so I can't make it t Warlock MP, my apologies.
Since the wife is out of town for the weekend the sky is the limit for me.

LOL well since my computer was put away, they've been the ones online when my account's logged in. Not sure why they would log in for March of Eagles, you can play that without Steam.. I like it, but it is kind of 'simple' so not sure how long it will keep my attention, I hope EU4 uses some of it's format for battles though, a lil more detailed than the usual EU3/CK2 etc, being able to setup your lines.
They've both been on a Civ V kick lately.. Craig also downloaded Caveman to Cosmos for Civ IV... funny they have worse Game ADD than I.. but Craig definitely has been on a Major Paradox kick last few months..
I've got my PC setup down cellar with an wireless adapter, so hope to get some gaming in this weekend! Can't wait for this construction to be over, so I can get my self set back up wired and with TV (Need TV or something when playing Warlock with MD, so you can do something during turns ;D )!

Just started the first scenario of the Soviet Invasion campaign of Combat Mission: Afghanistan. I think this is my favorite version of CM.
Fly a flight or two in FSX or FS2004 for the virtual airline I belong to.

@Gus: Good on ya', man! You realize that you'll have to bow to pressure and set up a time during the week to have an extended session, or agree to several nights in a weeks time to make up for it ;)

Lol.. the length of the turn isn't an issue.. it's the nature of the game.. I just like something to distract me, while waiting.. When I play Warlock singleplayer, I sometimes do sets on the Total Gym, although I do sometimes bum out that I didn't 'watch' the AI during its turn..
Do I seem to do my turns quick (on the times that it's not hanging on 'another piece to move' and I don't realize it)?

CMFI PBEM - was going well, found a spot for a Tiger with total view of the battlefield but 1000m from any enemy tanks - their shots are just plinking off the front armour, but then accidentally double clicked on the platoon commander giving him a move order which translates to the whole platoon moving - lost 50 men as they all ran out into the street to get mowed down!

Start Shogun II campaign
It's Operation Varsity Weekend (http://worldoftanks.com/news/2143-operation-varsity-weekend/) at World of Tanks and I'll be spending a few hours playing it this weekend.
Of the other PC games I'll be playing, Fallen Enchantress Legendary Heroes is the first one to come to mind. Dunno what else, but doubtless there'll be a retro game or two or three.
I've finally worked my way through the tutorial and the bootcamp for War in the East so I'm going to have a go at actually playing a scenario, probably Battle for Kharkov 1942 from the Don to Donnets expansion. Also probably some Tropico 4 or Distant Worlds - Legends.

Distant Worlds: Starting a new game. Playing with a mod I did that changes all the races to human, but keeps the original race biases. Think I'm going to change some of the ship sets before I start. This is probably going to be my last one until Shadows is released.
Kerbal Space Program: Bought it on Steam the other day. Not sure why I didn't buy it earlier. Had fun doing the launch and orbit tutorials. Going to start an actual game tonight and see how many rockets I blow up before I am actually able to get something into orbit.
Skyrim: Doing the Dawnguard faction questline.
Diablo 3: Grinding inferno for keys and a set of plans that make a Legendary ring.
Been in the mood for something new ever since I was sick a few weeks ago. Skyrim just doesn't seem to be holding my attention like it was. Thinking of either getting King of Dragon Pass from GOG or Steam and Iron. Been looking at both for awhile but can't really decide if I want to get either of them.
Well I dunno! I'm in a bit of a dilemma this weekend. The two Dominions 3 games going on here are on pause for a few days. I don't know whether to play a bit of it single player (can probably get through a couple of games) or play something else from my embarrassingly extensive library of barely-touched games.

Every second weekend. But I get a week off every 4th week so I'm OK with it. Honestly, I prefer working weekends and having days off in the middle of the week. No annoying management types around at work on the weekends and places like the gym, parks, and restaurants are far less crowded on the weekdays. It's mostly great.
Only a few things suck. One is that the 12 hour shifts coupled with the commute means that I can't really do anything other than work on work days. MAkes trying to follow an exercise regimen more of a challenge (that and I tend to eat way more on days where I'm working the night shift, like this weekend) The other sucky thing is that it sometimes makes it difficult to do things that are planned around the regular 9-5 work schedule that most people follow. I tried joining a volleyball and an old farts rugby league but I can't always make practices or games so I got the boot. Also makes social stuff a hassle at times as I can't always commit to events like parties, weddings, meet ups at the bar. Good thing I'm an anti-social grognard!

I might try to fit in some Halo Wars and Gears of War 3.
Will train some DCS Ka-50 Black Shark and getting ready for some multiplayer ;)
Most likely more Far Cry 3. I'd like to get some of the new Band of Heroes stuff on the table, and I still need to try out Agents of Smersh as well.
Far Cry 3 and my PC are not getting along. The game had crashed on me 8-10 times already. One was bad enough to require a hard restart. The others allow me to CTRL-ALT-DEL back to desktop but I still end up rebooting anyway because the graphics driver acts screwy after the crash.
I'm still not sure what to think of the game. I like the open nature of it but I really dislike all the console conceits with everything on the map, blinking glowy plants and loot boxes and the ability to see hostiles/critters through terrain. I think I'll try some of the realism mods to see if it makes it a bit more fun for me.

Getting into space is the easy part. Landing is where it gets tricky. Especially when it comes to maximizing fuel-vs-weight for those long trips, as it's a tough balancing trick to get enough of the former :D

KoDP is the cheaper one, and certainly one of the most unique strategy games out there. But I've spent a good amount of time with Steam & Iron too.. and the campaign add-on will be arriving shortly. ;D If you have any interest in either, I suggest getting them both at some point!

I'm sort of keen to get this one, but got the impression it was a bit light on scenarios both supplied and user made. Hopefully you'll correct me, as I love CM and just need to get over this issue.

I don't think it has any less scenarios that the rest of the CM2 lineup. Besides you know of another game that models the tactical level of the Russian involvement of Afghanistan like Battlefront's CM? (I know Tiller has Soviet-Afghan War)

Well, it was all pretty bloody. I realize I messed up some crucial stuff and as a result the Russians never really got rolling on Day1 so they were in pretty good positions (since they hadn't gotten very far) when the Finns hit them on the first night.
PQ-17 was more interesting. I've run two early convoys through the winter darkness and with all the ice and bad weather and near 24-hour darkness, there have only been some bloodless encounters between the RN and the Luftwaffe and the KM managed to spot and avoid some RN subs.
