A cold winter lunchtime in Colchester (UK).

The site is actually where the Roman temple Claudius was built and the castle is built on the foundations of it. The vaults underneath the castle can be visited by people today...and it's a bit of an eye opener.
There's huge history surrounding the site and the castle - one such story being Boudica raising The Roman Temple of Claudius to the ground after taking Camulodunum (Colchester) and later (1080) William the Conquerer ordering the castle (as it largely is now) to be built
Here's a wiki to the castle

Cool stuff. Thanks!
You work near there Dredd? The most interesting thing my office is near is the Subway sandwich shop :\
Yeah - I work just down the hill from the town centre. I walk up at lunchtime for a stroll and a sandwich - sit in the park - right opposite the castle as it happens. This photo was taken from where I was having lunch today - but it was bloody freezing so I wasn't hanging about!

Lucky man Judge. But can you get the bread for that sandwich toasted? I can despite the lack of history and culture here :)
Yep - because if I so choose, I could walk into one of the two Subways we have here. Meatball Marinara is my fav - and foot long (obviously!)
But the sandwich shop I go to make sarnies to order - and you can have them toasted - or have a pasta salad - or perhaps a jacket potato. :)
Touche Sir.
