I hope many of you are off this Good Friday ( I am not). The weekend will be dismal where I am, so, a plethora of indoor activities will be taking place. Most prominently among them is an attempt to get the participants in our Warlock AAR together for at least one play session. There will also be some Civ IV BTS MP with a buddy of mine on Saturday.
So, what are you going to be playing? Me? Assassins Creed III and maybe some Civ V.

I just purchased Dominions 3 (http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-DOM3A/dominions-3-the-awakening) from GamersGate for $7.49 so I will probably be putting some time into that. It's Monsters of Metal Weekend (http://worldoftanks.com/news/2163-monsters-metal-weekend/) at World of Tanks and that will take up several hours of my gaming time this weekend. I'm not sure what else I will be playing.

Ill make some Dom 3 notes (trying to build my own manual) and add to the AAR and hopefully the MP games will move on a pace

In between family responsibilities I will be playing some Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising (the SP campaign so far is quite entertaining) and reaping the rewards of WOT Heavy Metal Weekend. Hope to also fit in some retro gaming in the form of Silent Hunter 1.

All this talk about Age of Wonders 3 has led me to reinstall Shadow Magic, so I'll be playing that, and a particular Beta if I get my registration code today.

I just bought the Halberstadt IID in RoF....so some of that over Inspiration Island. Some ARMAIII on STRATIS island and some of PQ-17s PQ-13 between the Island of Iceland and the Islands of Zembla Something.

Starships unlimited is a very good game...not very intuitive imho and the graphics are not that great. But it's really worth to play.
CMBN And I'm un-happy about it. WARNING-- SPOILERS AHEAD. I'm playing the German Kampgruppe Engel campaign and at the beginning of the 3rd. battle I get a King Tiger tank as reinforcement. So I slog through battles 1 & 2 and when I get to 3, my King Tiger is about 300 meters in front of my lines and un-manned. I have to escort the crew out to it and then try to survive long enough to get it back to my side. I could just leave it there, but you know I gotta have it. It's right next to an American held town. The briefing says battalion-sized American force with a tank company in support. So this is where I'll lose the camp. as I'll probably sacrifice my entire command to get that damned Tiger. :'(
I'm knee deep in a Sword of the Stars 2 game and finally getting the hang of how it works and the pacing, etc....really starting to enjoy it, even more than Galactic Civ 2, though Distant World still holds first place for me. But, it's off to visit family for the weekend so I won't get back to it until Monday. Have a great gaming weekend everyone!

I doubt that I will ever get good enough at
Dominions 3 to play anything but the single player mode. I wouldn't want to embarrass myself. :P But we'll see.
I plan on actually playing a game of LnL Band of Heroes, some Flaming Cliffs 3 (just finished my first two missions - AND landed!) and painting some of my Trumpeter 1/35 Challenger II MBT.

I grabed Etherlords for $6 from gog.com, from first looks it plays like ande feel alot like HerosOfMight&Magic, but the battles with cards, although still feels like the autocombat of HoMM, you summon creatures to fight then they take a bite out of the enemy. so Im going to play this I think over easter.
I will play dominions 3 every day of my life from now on , its that good
I found Distant Worlds to be easy but complex, the things that go on in the game are fantastic, so I will also be playing DW over the weekend.
Maybe some field Of Glory, or Armada 2526.
As one of Grogheads resident XBOX'ers I'll be playing Gears of War: Judgement, maybe some Halo Wars, and if there is time GRFS and cracking open Bioshock: Infinite. That and Easter celebrations plus honey do lists. ;)

Pah! I'm so crap at strategy games that I can't even usually beat the AI on normal difficulty levels - hasn't stopped me diving straight into multiplayer!

Advanced Tactics Gold just got updated so I'll be playing that.

But once the day is over, I think I might pick up Red Orchestra 2 and give it a try again. I am getting a bit miffed by my two normal shooters: Black Ops 2 and BF3. BLOps 2 because I do not like how Treyarch is segregating the new map pack from the other maps, not to mention telling us what modes will be available to play on those new maps. >:( And I am annoyed with what I have seen with BF4, something that makes me down on BF3. So...RO2?
^Being a Jew I have no such worries. To celebrate, I am going start a new campaign of Medieval 2: Total War with version 6.3 Stainless Steel mod, and will probably be purchasing the Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim too.
Hmmm...probably more Far Cry 3. And I keep buying more damn strategy games, so I'd better actually start playing a few of the stupid things. ;D
On the table, I'd like to bust out the Noville expansion for Band of Heroes and try some of that out. And with the nieces and nephew coming up, I'll need to make sure I'm up on the rules for a few new games to try with them.

It's awesome!.. Big learning curve on weapons systems, if you need any help let me know.. I still have a lot to learn.. But I'm having a blast..
The most important thing is to program a key on your stick for
TMS Forward/Up and another one for
China Cat Forward.
I also added shift key and ctrl key commands to my Hat Switch so that I could get three sets of commands out of it.. who knows as I learn more, I might add a set for the ALT key too..
I grabbed the Mustang and the Blackshark from the sale, even though, I'm not super interested in them, I figured more money to DCS, so they keep developing!

Phantom Leader PC (maybe streamed to tablet for love-seat wargaming ;-) )
Kerbal Space Program with ISA Mod (already have a probe in a polar orbit around Kerbal now up to the Mun)
will take a look at Dead Space 3 (which 'came' with Sim City)
and either CM:I or CM:BN for the tactical wargaming fix (...and finally get to witness the gameplay difference introduced by the last patch concerning the suppression by MG fire changes, and stuff)

I agree with both your assessments. And I try to not to be "that guy" either. I would dearly like to get a look at how each of you conducts your Turn. To see if I am just taking too much time or that I have more of everything to move. If the latter, then y'all are just jealous. If the former, then I would continue to look for ways to improve my time.
I apologize for last night, a couple times I hit enter, then went to my other monitor browsing, not realizing that it was paused waiting on a unit or something. Another fault in the game, when I say End Turn I mean End Turn!
Also would be nice like we discussed last night if you could do stuff during the other player's turns like mouse over NME units to check out specifics on them.. I think Civ IV and V allow that..

Agreed. I think it's absolutely mental that Warlock doesn't allow this.
Probably some more Skyrim (my go-to when I'm mentally kind of cooked), and maybe some more attempts to learn Dom 3. I also just picked up Graviteam Tactics: Operation Hooper.

Pressing Enter on your keyboard will force end the Turn regardless of what you still have pending. I like that the game will stop me if a unit still has movement points or options before my Turn truly ends. Units that you set to heal and become full power again, do not end up in the unit queue during your Turn but at the end after you pressed End Turn.

I got the CA module. It's hard for me to say whether it's worth $20 to you or not. I will say that it has been worth it to me so far.
Basically, in SP mode, it is very much a beer-and-pretzels armor simulation. It's sort of like a slimmed down ARMA2 armor sim. What I like about it is that you essentially have a monster sandbox of stuff to play with. You can put all sorts of neat land and air units into the game and play it like a RTS, but you also have the ability to drill down and go into FPS with many of the tanks and vehicles.
Yet, in FPS mode it really isn't very hardcore. However, it's fun. I wanted something that was like an old-school arcade shooter, and in some ways that's about as hardcore as it is right now in FPS mode. Sometimes it's nice to not have to sweat things like in Steel Beasts if you know what I mean.
So, if that's what you're looking for, I say go for it. The potential for really fun PvP is amazing.

What really happened? RoF mostly and no ARMAIII and some PQ-17. I was running a heavily revised PQ-13 (and QP-9 is the convoy of ships returning from having unloaded in Murminsk) -- the KM has fuel! -- The RN plan has a fake convoy (historically possible) and they have deliberately leaked the convoy routes and schedules (which was done historically in hopes of catching the Tirpitz). The Germans have their idea inteception plans and boom! The convoy nobody was interested in gets spotted shadowed torpedoed and bombed. Yes, QP-9 runs afoul of dozen floatplanes carrying torpedos and about 30 Ju88A-4s and has one merchant crippled and 2 sunk. First sinkings out of 8 convoy runs.
I have just about finished installing everything and now I am overwhelmed with what to try and play.... I started a Shogun TW 2 campaign and I am learning that, and completed some test and tweak flights in FSX.... a little ARMA.... Next, who knows.....
