Alright guys, I wanted to get you all in on this new KS project that looks pretty excellent. It is for the next RPG in the Divinity saga by Larian, a fairly well received series known for its ARPG style. But this one looks particularly special. They are looking to increase player choices, boost up the interaction between elements in the game world, and provide a more open-world style. Best yet - this RPG has turned-based combat! I was in right there, as it reminds me of the old Drakensang "The Black Eye" (Stars of Arkania) games of way back when.
Anyway, check it out:

I actually was drawn in by the bundle they are offering of their upcoming game Dragon Commander - an RTS set in a similar world that is supposed to be a mash-up of Total War, a political-social sim (apparently the Undead are Conservatives, Elves are Liberals, Dwarves are Capitalists, Reptile Men are Libertarians, and Imps Technological Progressives), and an RTS where you get to control a Dragon tearing up the landscape. Sounds like my type of game!
I enjoyed Divine Divinity.
Excellent!
I like that they've returned to an isometric style 'quarter' view. Turn-based combat is good news, too.
Divine Divinity was one of my favorite RPGs and also one of the handful I played to completion and still played afterward. Oddly enough, the gameplay is better in DD than it was in any of the sequels, IMO. I'm glad they're going back down that path as opposed to the 3rd-person over the shoulder ordeal of the last one.
I've been eying this for a while now.
So should I really go into this Kickstarter as well (it's not like I don't already have dozens of kickstaters that I've backed and waiting to complete :P)?
Dragon Commander looks crazy, in a good way.

Yessir! Fantasy Steampunk politics including a jetpack wearing Dragon!? How can THAT go wrong!
I daresay I am curious to find out.
I picked up Divinity: Original Sin's Early Access at the sale price, and I'm impressed. I never thought they'd go back to the style of the first two Divinity games, but they have. O0 Even added a multi-player Cooperative option with in-game chat support.
The general Steam forum consensus has been generally good, from what little I've investigated in the past few months. I probably won't delve too far in until after official release at the end of this month because we'll probably have to start fresh. But I've already sunk 5 hours into it, which is more than I can say for many of my games.
I've been anxiously waiting for its release.
Is it turn based? The video makes it look like its real time and Diablo-like.
You bet it's turn based :)
With an AP system to boot!
Cool! Thanks.
Well shit. Remapping controls to the numpad is buggered. At least the game gives me the option to remap the controls to the numpad but it doesn't differentiate between the number keys on the numpad and the number keys above the qwerty keyboard. For example, I assigned NUM 8 to the move camera forward command yet I press NUM 8, the game sees it as me pressing 8 and then accesses whatever has been mapped to the position 8 slot in the quick bar.
Guess I'll be shelving this until that's fixed.

Fiddling with the NumLock key does not help?
Nope. >:(
From what I understood, most of the game content won't be released until the 30th anyway.
I was just getting familiar with the basics. The turn-based combat is pretty damn fun.. and flashy too! O0
I do wish that non-combat movement was a bit faster. It reminds me of the glacial pace of the old Baldur's Gate series where you'd just be clicking movement orders and waiting for your characters to get there quite often.
@SDR, you should at least make sure to report this bug.
If you won't report it, then don't count on it to ever get fixed.
Already reported.
Will buy this when it comes out as a full release. I really don't fancy playing a beta of an RPG to be honest.
As for the game love the interactivity thats promised.

It's release date is the 30th. Five days from now.
I'm happy I got it at 20% off. I spent 5 hours playing it and wanted to do more but the big release update won't be compatible with our characters so we'll be starting over on the 30th.
I've been impressed. It reminds me of the original
Divine Divinity, albeit better looking with a friendlier UI.. and multi-player. Which is great because DD was one of my favorite RPGs. Hell.. I may go play some of the original game while waiting.
Wish I could sell you mine. Worthless POS to me right now.
Game is due to be released later on today.
Can't wait O0
