This is probably more disappointing to me then anyone else here. Bethesda posted a blog today saying that there will be no more Skyrim DLC and that the remainder of the team is going to be moving to their new project, presumably Fallout 4, that is now at a stage that requires a full development team. I'm more then a little disappointed in this. I was expecting at least another 2-3 DLC's. Fallout 3 got 5 DLC and New Vegas got 6....Skyrim gets 3.
I was really hoping they would at least tie up the empire vs Thallmor saga. A new war is being constantly hinted at all through the game. Guess we won;t find out what happens until TES VI.

I wonder if the PS3 problems with the DLC is the reason behind this. It took them a long time to finally get the DLC on the PS3.

The base game requires steam. I've never purchased from Gamestop but I would think it would give you a steam key.

This is sad news indeed-- no new content. Now what am I going to do with all those damned books? I guess it's up to the modders now to keep this world alive. God Bless them.

But I still have not finished Skyrim, my new PC has gotten me back into playing it at maxed out..... if I can pull away from FSX I hope to finish it and get the available add-ons.... I played a little last night and I have been away far too long.

No Kidding. At least Bethesda supports their modding community by giving them the tools to make pretty much anything they want. If it wasn't for mods like Skyrim Redone and Frostfall I don't think I would have gotten anywhere near the 500 hours I currently have into Skyrim.
What mods do you guys recommend? I have some minor mods installed, but looking through the workshop.... it has really grown.

First thing I recommend if you plan on installing any mods other then armor/weapon mods, is to ditch the Steam workshop and get the Nexus Mod Manager. Its not that the steam workshop is a bad idea, but auto update is a bad idea when dealing with The Elder Scrolls/Fall out mods. Some mods require you to do specific procedures in order to update your mods, and if you don't it can cause your game to be unplayable.
The mods I consider essential are (in no particular order):
1. Skyrim Redone
2. Frostfall
3. Climates of Tameriel
4. Deadly Dragons
5. Pure Waters
6. Realistic Needs and Diseases
7. Convenient Horses
8. Ultimate Follower Overhaul
9. Immersive Weapons/Immersive Armor
10. SkyUI and iHud
I've currently got around 100 mods installed, but those are the 10 at the core of every play through I do.

Most of the videos are only 2-5 minutes long and cover 1-2 mods. Gophers tend to be a little longer 15-20 minutes, but he generally covers 3-4 mods per episode, and spends a little more time getting into detail and also covers installing each mod. Where as the other two channels are more review focused. Gopher also does some excellent tutorial videos for new comers to the modding scene.
Gamespot features "The Top 5 Five Skyrim Mods of the Week" every Monday. I always check it out as well as the Steam mods rated 4 or 5 stars. I've only got a few installed but couldn't play without them now.

Thanks for the list.... I am trying to finish vanilla then go back and mod it.
Frostfall I believe is a Survival mod... you have to build camp, find wood, build a fire and make shelter when you are out traveling....

The Bags and Bandolers mod is great. You can craft or buy bags that will pretty much hold everything you can carry and the mods that add more detail to the map are good too. It helps to find your way around more easily(roads & markers & such).
I could use both those mods myself...I get lost regulalry and never have enough space for phat lootz.

I get lost as well but its generally an enjoyable experience. I find myself just walking around sometimes looking at the views and then I realize I don't know where I am anymore.

Having roads on the map lets you see where they go and branch-off to a dead-end. You know there's got to be something there when you reach it. That way when you're lost, you can tell where you are. Make sense? :o :o

I find it fun to play with a map mod that shows only the main roads and all the secondary roads and trails are removed. It keeps traveling and exploring interesting after all the hours i have played.

I have 500 hours into it. The next closest game for me is CK2 with 100 hours played. Even after all that time I'm still finding new stuff. Sure a lot of the quest are fetch and kill quests. But for me the fun is just roaming around and finding random dungeons that I might have walked by hundreds of times. And no other game even comes close to the beautiful screen shots that you can take in Skyrim. Sometimes I will just wonder around for half a day trying to find the perfect shot.
I've also used Skyrim screen shots for desktop wallpaper, probably the only game I have done that with. Ashamedly, I am just now getting ready to play my first game of CKII.
Yeah, I tend to wander a little too much and forget where I was going to begin with. I recently did a quest connected to Fort Sungard I think it was and of course I had to check-out every tower and walkway and while at the very top, the sun was setting. I just stood there for the next several minutes as the sun went down and the stars came out and was struck by the beauty of the distant mountains and clouds passing. Something you could never explain to someone who never played the game. I thought then, Tolkien would love this game. How can they leave us without more content?
I have taken screenshots of exactly those knds of moments. Other games are beautiful but Skyrim connects on a human level sometimes that just leaves me in awe.
I wiped out my vanilla game and few mods and reinstalled the recommended mods above and some extra... and wow, whole new game! I was far along in my vanilla, but the restart with the mods has been totally worth it! A new game....

I think it is because we all wish we could see those kind of majestic views but know that in our life time the opportunity will be rare if not nonexistent.
I've put a few hours into Dragonborn...really enjoying it. It brings back fond memories of playing Morrowind years ago. As others have stated, Skyrim is an incredible gaming experience.
I enjoyed the Dawnguard DLC while most were 'meh' about it. Rayfer can you compare the two DLCs? I just picked up Dragonborn a few days ago, haven't started it yet.
I have read that Dragonborn opens up the entirely knew, large part of Skyrim called Solsteim while Dawnguard, to many, felt short and not worth the price.

I've been playing through as the vampire hunters. I'm enjoying it. Although I think like Dragonborn more.
Dawnguard takes place within the existing game world map but adding new locations, etc. I enjoyed it, played it as a Dawnguard against the vampires. Dragonborn is an entirely new area, an island off the coast of Skyrim. If you played Morrowind you'll enjoy what they did in Dragonborn. I'm still only a few hours in so I can't compare it to Dawnguard which I have finished to the end. IMHO....the key to both dlc's is the same as the key to Skyrim; don't rush through the main quest line...enjoy the many, many side quests, some of which are quite interesting while others are the old fetch this, kill this stuff, but still fun, and just explore to uncover all it has to offer.
Totally agree there...I like my Skyrim in slow draughts.

I have not, but I think I will be.
One of my favorite house mods is the Halls of Dovahndor. As far as I know its the biggest player home for Skyrim at the moment.
