Title: 4x free online game by Iron Helmet
Post by: Keunert on April 18, 2013, 08:12:50 AM
http://np.ironhelmet.com/

looks like a fun game. their concept is to make really slow online games that have a boardgame feeling to it.
the game can be played on tablets, phones and desktop and is a diplomacy kind of space game against human players.
a few minutes a day seems to be enough to play it properly.

Neptune's Pride is a great game.  Basically, Diplomacy in space.  The best part is watching your fleets creep their way to their targets over a period of real world days! That creates a great deal of tension in a world where most games resolve battles instantaneously.

I signed up to try a game in the beta of NP2.  From what I can see, it mostly has small, incremental improvements to the research tree, as well as some new code to take advantage of HTML 5.  Some features from NP1 haven't been implemented yet either.  Regardless, it is already a fun game...again.   :)

I've wanted to try their games for a while, but the Google Accounts requirement means no "sale" unfortunately.

Haven't played NP for awhile, but it's a lot of fun.

I knew it was going HTML 5, but I didn't know anything else had been added. Cool.

Yeah.  Blight of the Immortals was a darn fine co-op game, but it never got quite the variety of maps that it needed to boost maximum replay value.  Their approach to "real-time/slow-motion" games provides a very nicely paced game, and their mechanics tend to accurately capture the board-game feel that I've always loved in other such titles.
