.... ................ I, uh, also didn't finish a game this week.
I really did think I'd have Stronghold 1 whupped by now, but I've just now reached the 3/4 mark maybe. Or somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4. Oh well. Haven't lost interest yet.
(Also, by some miracle, I haven't yet lost my Groghead Dom3 Early Age multiplayer game, although I was put out of the giant Middle Age game I'm adminning. But that was last week.)
What I have lost is pretty much any will to resist buying games on sale over the past week. But I justify thisHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahaaahhaaahhahaa.... sorry, wait. I quasi-justify this by observing that since I started my new diet, I'm saving money every day I would have been spending on food, so I can spend that money every day on new games which, being on a diet, makes me feel better since diets tend to naturally depress me and I shopsplurge when I'm depressed AND STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT! No, I don't spend only the same amount of money per day that I saved on food, and yes I ought to be saving that money for useful things like investments and retirement and... food maybe.

On the positive side, I've lost 6.5 lbs in the past two weeks, lost a full inch of stomach, and gained an inch of shoulders. (That's circumference, not width, but still, not bad for two weeks. And the shoulders were actually only one week!)
Maybe next week I'll have an actually finished game to report, presumably the one I'm playing when I have the mental energy to do so. (Hey, Saturday, literally all I did all day was sit around losing weight and playing Stronghold. Having eaten two beef pizzas from Pizza Pro; lost about 3lbs that day, no kidding -- two small beef pizzas are only 1050 calories, which sounds like a lot until those are the only calories all day!)
I finished the Skyrim main quest for the first time, 530 hours played and I finally got around to finishing it. had to turn down the difficulty to adept, down from expert, and reset Deadly Dragons back to vanilla in order to survive. If I had the patience I probably could have beaten Alduin with my normal settings but there is only so many times that one can be one shotted right at the beginning of a fight and still enjoy it.
Wow! :o 530 hours beats my 250 by a long margin. Mental note for whenever I get around to mod-souping Skyrim for my PC.

If it wasn't for Skyrim Redone I wouldn't be anywhere near that. While I consider mods like Climates of Tameriel, Convenient horses, and UFO essential, none of them are nearly as essential as SkyRe. Just the perk overhaul alone has kept each playthrough feeling fresh and new. I still have at least another 5 or 6 character builds I want to play. All the changes to combat, item balancing, etc. is juts icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned. And the author, T3nd0, is still adding more to the mod in every new version.
I'm certainly keeping an eye on that Immersive Skyrim mod-collection thread.
It's not monday, and this ain't a "Finish", more like a major accomplishment-- for me anyway. CMBN- The German campaign- Kampgruppe Engel with spoilers ahead. The 3rd battle in this German campaign you get a King Tiger tank as reinforcement. The catch is it's about 300 meters in front of your lines and un-manned. You have to get the crew to it before you can use it in the face of a battalion-sized American attack supported by a tank company and lots of arty. After a whole lot of thought, planning, manuvering, and luck, I've managed to get the crew to and into the "Big Kitty" as I call her, just ahead of the American avalanche, and she's already paid for the effort by taking-out 2 American tanks the first minute she was active and another 2 in the next minute. I may not win this battle, it's got 45 more min. to go, but I think the Americans are going hate the Big Kitty and curse her name. And I've earned a little bragging rights in getting this far.
Yeah, that may need two or three Gundams... :)
(I have a running joke about what's necessary to kill German Panther tanks.)

(Unless finally switching off to the AI in my Early Age Grogheads mp game of Dominions 3 counts.)
I would surely have finished Stronghold 1 (I'm maybe eight missions out from the end) if not for working on the campaign for Leviathan: Warships. Anyone interested in tactical surface ship combat (and design, sort of) ought to look into this game, btw.

Third Monday of the month -- and considering I just bought (or rather tried to buy) into the closed beta for Mechwarrior Tactics (http://grogheads.com/forums/index.php?topic=5883.0), along with getting into modding Skyrim finally (having bought it on sale for the PC), I doubt I'll be finishing any games at all this month. Not counting the utterly slutty number of games I've bought this month already.
But don't let my pitiful lack of self-control and self-respect stop anyone else from encouraging us! Give us hope that we aren't throwing our money away for nothing!!--has anyone managed to finish a game this past week(end)?!
I played a couple hours of Skyrim on Saturday. The heat and my allergies combined to make Sunday miserable for me and I didn't get any gaming time in.

Don;t feel bad, I bought both the Dragon Age Complete Pack and Silent Hunter Complete. I didn't even like DA1 that much and I still bought it a second time. Talk about throwing money down the drain.....

Nope...still strugeling with the
impossible mission 5 (Pegasus Lake) in Heroes of Annihilated Empires...boy, this mission is hard, hard and hard....hordes of undead!
