Is anyone interested in an updated Civil War General? Jean Marciniak is attempting to raise $100,000 on Kickstarter (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1370320888/civil-war-general?ref=live) to develop Civil War General.

I don't think this one is going to amount to anything. It looks like a "game designer" in search of people to make a game for him. I hate to be negative, but he is going to hire a staff, procure a physical location, and THEN make a game from scratch by the end of the year. Its silly, really. The only thing he has at this point is any idea without a clue as to how to make it happen besides needing 100k. This thing is dead in the water from the get-go.
I would love new versions of Civil War Generals 2 and Birth of the Federation (two games he would like to make sequels of). these games are among my all time favourites (which is also the case for Jean Marciniak).
Unfortunately, i don't believe he can achieve it. He's made many attempts in the last few years...maybe he can pull it off once but not now i am afraid.
I really wished he was able to do it as his vision is very appealing...
So not a single bit of the game is actually made, nothing is even drawn up, there are no development staff even hired yet and they don't even currently possess any office space...but it will be done by December? And it doesn't exactly read like a simple concept game he's trying to make, either. This is so out to lunch that unrealistic doesn't really cut it as a descriptor.

Well, its getting slaughtered over at the other place - and I have to say - I pretty much agree with everything thats being said.
I have to agree with everyone above. This project has nothing going for it except for the long shot hope of making a sequel to Civil War General. I really wish someone would make a serious attempt at it.
