I've been really looking closely at this one and *almost* picked it up at the recent 1/2 price sale that GMT held but I just don't think that I could get through 60+ pages of rules for a new game system. Or more accurately, I'm not sure that my son with whom I'd hope to play the game would comprehend 60+ pages of rules for a game at this point. I'd like to hear some reviews from members here if anybody has it or has played it.
Interesting game, but not for a young kid (assuming your son is young). Memoir '44 or Tide of Iron might be better,

He's 14 but we've played Up Front (one of his favorites) and ASL together along with several lighter games. He's really into modern conflicts however and so I thought this might be one that he'd enjoy and we talked about it but he's more into tactical gaming. I'm thinking that I should of picked up a copy of it though at the recent sale just in case. Oh well, got CC:A and expansion pack #1 at half off and that will be something that I know he'll enjoy.
I was tempted to buy Next War: Korea during last weeks 50% off sale. Glad I was able to resist as I'm having enough problems staying focused on the few games that I want to be playing at the moment. The Next War games look nice and meaty, covering interesting theaters. I'm sure I'll go there one of these day.
Next War: Korea is one of the games I have open, rule books out.
If you're interested in learning it and maybe kicking a n00b around on Vassal, let me know. And by learning it, I mean learning it on your own and then the two of us figuring out just how in the heck to play the thing.
The basic rules don't actually look all that hard. I can't believe they're any harder than Third Reich.
Yeah, let me pull down a copy of the rules and have a look and I'll let you know if I'd be interested in giving it a spin. If it can be pbem'd, that'd work best for me.
