It begins with a special ops mission, where the Saints are going after a terrorist group with a nuke. Yes, really. This culminates with you climbing up the side of said nuke as it flies through the air, ripping out control panels while Aerosmith ballads play and your various game co-stars tell you how much you mean to them. Again, yes really.

No cancer or no hunger...hmmmm. Holding those is Vice President Keith David. Yes, the actor. He gets to do the voice work for himself for once. But there are other important decisions to make, too! Like how to deal with some nitwit Congressman threatening filibusters...

Then aliens attack and enslave Earth's best and brightest. Well, and you...after you use a Presidential cannon to shoot a bunch of them down. You wake up in an ultra-polite Leave It To Beaver style world until dropping an F-bomb and inciting the wrath of the Sheriff. The alien overlord then hurls you in to a recreation of Steelport.
And that's where I am now. Same ridiculous fun in the sort of storyline that manages to be entertaining while also insane.
Oh, the game continues to get better and better. Just wait until you get super powers.
And I just have to wait until they decide to release it for all those outside North America! :P

Yeah, I just bought this over the weekend when I saw it on sale on Steam. It had me from that nuke-climbing bit. I laughed so much I missed one jump.
I have SR 2 and 3, but didn't finish either of them as they didn't hold my interest for long. This one, though, is much different. I dunno if it's the alien invasion schtick, but more than likely it's that it's so much fun to run and jump everywhere. No more cars!
Makes me wish I sprung for the 'Game of the Century' edition, but after consideration it doesn't look like much more than a ton of fluff for an extra ten bucks. Meh, I'm sure it'll go on sale again eventually.
