It's upgrade time in two weeks (if I stick with my current network - November if I don't). With great sadness I shall be leaving the good ship Blackberry, since it looks almost certain the company is going tits up. :(
Anyway. I'm pretty sure my next phone will be an S4. Does anyone here have one? What do you think of it?
I have an s3 amd it frikin rocks!
Death to Apple!
I got a Galaxy Fame.....no idea how to use it.....but it was a free up-grade from Virgin to replace my Blackberry Curve.

Heh, quite. I've never had an iPhone and never will. :) Would you care to comment on what you particularly like about the S3?
Bob: I've never heard of the Galaxy Fame!
Well, neither had I until Virgin rang me and said they were sending me one. That was a couple of months ago.
Excellent screen size and resolution, easy updates, great reception (tmobile) and the size and weight are just right to me. The s4 is a little bigger but nothing I'd notice. The camera is also very good.
They sent you a virgin Bawb? ???

I'm got a Stratosphere that I really liked until my association with LB somehow got me on an NSA watch list, and now it'll take upwards of 45 seconds from the time I hit the "dial" button until the f'n' call goes thru while they route it through the NSA switchboard.
That, and completely draining my battery in about 45 minutes of the phone sitting on my f'n' desk at work while they're searching my files for... who the f* knows what.

If only it were a Stratocaster...
...with a whammy bar.
I have a strat. took off the whammy bar - don't enjoy using it
Galaxy S2 here ...feel no need to upgrade, i replace it when its broken.
(also have Note 10.1)
samsung makes a damn good phone. the guy that put the protective film on the front did a crappy job and about a month ago I took it off. job sites, pockets, tables blah blah blah and the screen still doesnt have a scratch.
That's encouraging. I'm used to protective covers being pretty much essential.

I, too, noticed the lack of superglue, particle board, and caulk. It's amazing what you can make with real material like metal.
the guy went to school in Bern and was a pretty unspectacular kid. nobody knew his background. he may bought this cheap Swatch back then in true socialist style.
What the hell are you lot banging on about?!

You're calling the GrogHeads "weirdos"? That's like walking up to a basketball team and saying "Damn, you guys are
tall!"
Well, my mind is made up then.
I'm getting an HTC One. :D
that is an incredible good looking phone and got top reviews. congrats on that decision. still korean though
Taiwanese. :P
Yeah it does sound like an incredible phone. I agonised between it and the S4 for a while; there doesn't seem to be much to choose between them. However I'm thinking the One's aluminium chassis vs the S4's plastic would make the One the sturdier of the two.
I have the S4. I like it so far, but I probably under utilize it. Really just use it for email, web-browsing, phone and text. Have not really explored many of the apps or widgets. This is my first non-blackberry smartphone. I had been a BB user for at least a decade. It was a tough decision to try a new platform, but so far I'm happy with my choice.
Jarhead, I was late to the Blackberry fold but I've been very happy with my phone over the last two years, and the new BB10 phones look extremely good. If the future of the company wasn't in so much doubt I'd be upgrading to the Z10.
Having said that, I am looking forward to having a phone for which there are more than a dozen apps available. ;)

Well, it sounds like we are in a very similar boat. For years, i just could not bring myself to ditch the old BB keyboard. Like you, however, I just do not feel comfortable sticking with that device anymore due to the uncertainty of its future. The writing is clearly on the wall.
So far, I do not regret the change over. However, I can say that I have not been as productive on the s4 as I was on the BB. I just cannot type as fast or as error free with the touch pad as I could with the BB keyboard. I'm sure I will improve with time, but not without some resistance to change.
Overall, however, the s4 is a much better device then my last BB (I had the newest bold). The s4 is powerful, sleek and sexy. I have something psychological against the iPhone, so for me it was a choice between the s4 and the htc one. I understand you can't go wrong with either device.

This is really my only concern; a physical keyboard on a phone is a huge luxury. People I know with other phones would wait until they're at a PC before replying to emails, for example, whereas I would happily send a lengthy reply straight away right from my phone. Its loss is going to take some getting used to.

I have a pathological hatred for Apple so I'd rather not have a phone at all than an iPhone! Yeah, it seems there's little to choose between the S4 and the One. Hell, I might change my mind myself by upgrade day, but currently it's still the One.
First app I install will be something to make it look like a tricorder out of Star Trek. :D
Finally got my HTC One. No time to post impressions now but my GOD it's a nice phone! I'm really pleased with it.
