Two US Air Force pilots controlled the plane from the ground as it flew from a Florida base to the Gulf of Mexico.

I really dont see why this is such a big deal.  we've been doing this for decades with old airframes.

Yeah, I remember driving past Tyndall AFB in the Florida panhandle and seeing dozens of RC F4's from the highway.

would be more interesting if the plane actually performed the Whole flight autonomous (hope I spelled that right)
