Friggin' hard! But for $3, a heck of a lot of fun...
Is it good?
I just couldn't bring myself to pick it up because the graphics looks like they'd give me a seizure, if I could even make the various stuff out. :-\
I like it a lot. Very fun, but its so hard I can see myself getting frustrated. If you like roguelikes, I'd think you'd like Teleglitch.

I do enjoy roguelikes.
Is this turn-based or real-time?

Real time. "Twitch" 2d shooter mechanics. With a procedurally generated world.
It's a lot of fun.... however get ready to die.... a lot.

It is brutal. But its a survival horror/sci fi type game, where you can combine the stuff you find to make better more interesting weapons. You'll always be short of ammo.
They've added gamepad support with this newer version I think.
Looks interesting but the presentation is awful. Also I would undoubtedly suck at it. Pass.
Yeah, same. I was reminded why I didn't pick it up, after watching the vid. The indistinct graphics would give me issues and the arcade top-down shooter stuff usually isn't my thing.
I looked because it said "roguelike" in the description, but doesn't look to play like one other than perhaps difficulty or perma-death.
In defence of the art style of the game, it doesn't screenshot well. The retro pixel look, doesn't come across good at all in the still images. However the in-game effects are quite elaborate and entertaining and it feels smooth and a pleasure to look at during play. Weapons fire makes things shake, giving them a very powerful feel, dynamic zooming during intense action happens, weird phasing effects when near cracks in the station, you can almost smell the multi-chromatic pulsing void wanting to suck your soul out of your body. Scenery and objects in the world have some interactive physics about them, bumping into boxes, pipes and other detritus. Even though its such a low res attempt at retro, it does have atmosphere and effects that would sometimes put higher resolution indie titles to shame, especially some "proper" roguelikes.
It is survival horror real time twitch shooter inventory manager crafting combiner though. With a procedural map generator, permadeath and a brutal difficulty curve - these are the nods towards roguelikes. I'm sure the Rogue Temple folks would classify it as a roguelike-like. A bit like Binding of Isaac, only better IMHO.
