Not sure where to file this, but I think it's an interesting development for two reasons.
First, it's Sunday delivery. I didn't realize there was a high demand for this, but I agree it would be nice sometimes not to wait an extra day for stuff to arrive just because it's the weekend.
Second, Amazon is partnering with the USPS to make it happen. That's pretty innovative IMHO. I hope it succeeds.

Very interesting news indeed. U.S.P.S. can certainly make it happen and it sorely needs any funds it can get. I'm glad that Amazon is partnering with them on this and hope to see the service made available to all Amazon Prime customers everywhere in the continental U.S.
Yeah I agree that it is cool to see Amazon partnering with the USPS. What I do not like is that the "free shipping" minimum on Amazon has gone up in the last few weeks, from $25 to $35.
I probably do 90% of my non-grocery/gas shopping from Amazon. It is very rare that I can't beat retail price through Amazon (with the exception of wargames, where Steam still rules), and with the free delivery to my door....well Hell, how can you beat that?

I buy their Prime service. Amazon actually loses money on it. 2 day shipping on nearly everything and you sometimes get additional discounts. We bought it last Christmas and it paid for itself before the holidays were over. Since then it's been gravy. Doubtless we'll do it again this year.
Keep in mind the Sunday service is for Prime customers.
They keep tempting me to go prime...I have resisted. Does prime cover Amazon vendors too?

Walmart and Home Depot online also deliver free to your door.

Just a reminder- Amazon Prime also gives you a butt-load of free video. Lots of TV shows' first (and sometimes second) seasons just to whet your appetite and many movies and documentaries you won't find on Netflix and would have to pay for on iTunes. TBS they do have a lot of pay-to-view as well. Occasionally Amazon Prime will have a movie for $10-$15 that has just premiered in the theaters. Subtract the cost of gas and several palm-oil-encrusted buckets of popcorn and you will probably come out ahead money-wise.
